Guest guest
I've only known cocoa butter as an aid for dry skin. Can you cook with it? This is very interesting, hope someone has an answer for us. Guest guest
Helloooooo! As we all know that cocoa butter is the base of all good quality chocolate! Yum! I have a product that is from Now foods-love Now foods!!!!!!!!. It is 100% pure cocoa butter and no other ingredients. It is extremely hard and waxy, and can be melted in the micro or on the stove. I scoop out some in a container to keep as a skin conditioner and keep the left over in my kitchen ( dont want to confuse the two containers) ewww. The product specifies that it is food grade and cosmetic grade. I just do not know what to use it for in recipes! lawannasoul <lawannasoul wrote: I've only known cocoa butter as an aid for dry skin. Guest guest
I looked in some dessertt cookbooks and on the net and I sure don't see anything about cooking with cocoa butter. For some reason I get the impression you can melt it and add cocoa chocolate powder to it. That is odd we don't find anything out there calling for it. Guest guest
I am just going to try substituting for salad oil, butter and shortning in recipes. It doesn't matter if the recipes are a flop- I will probably be the only one consuming them. My some of my family can tolerate vegetarian- especially my neices and nephew, but because I am quickly converting to vegan- I am all alone! If It tastes good I will trick them as usual!!!!!!!!!
