Guest guest
Hi, I have been gone for a little while and have decided I missed the group. So I decided to rejoin. I do need some ideas about fat free plain yogurt. I'm starting a new diet and it suggests 2 dairy servings a day (preferably milk or yogurt). It recommends plain fat free yogurt. I don't like yogurt too well as it is and I usually prefer the whipped type. I'm thinking of getting some fat free plain yogurt but I need some ideas of what to put in it to make it more appetizing to me. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. If anyone can think of something I could use for dairy (I don't like fat free cheese) I would appreciate those ideas also. Liz
Guest guest
Hi Liz You could make smoothies with lots of fruit a frozen banana small pkg sweetener and fat-free yogurt. Put in the blender and whip it up .The Beatrice fat-free vanilla yogurt is really good to make smoothies. Guest guest
I eat plan yogurt, and put frozen berries in it in the morning before i go to work... a strawberry and some blueberries and raspberries. By the time i eat it at 10ish the berries have softened up and can be blended into the yogurt. i sometimes add sunflower seeds or granola, depending on what im in the mood for. dont know about calories, or how much fat that would be... Guest guest
In my house we primarily use plain yogurt to make raita. My kids love raita with a curry/rice dinner. Papadum seals the deal. I usually make raita with plain yogurt, some garlic powder and grated cucumber. But in a pinch, they'll just use the yogurt straight. It really cuts the spiciness of the curry and/or papadum. ( I've seen fancier recipes for raita as well.) In fact, one yummy snack is the frozen samosa from Trader Joes, with raita on the side for dipping. My kids eat lots of raita. :-) Sharon
Guest guest
drain the plain yogurt in a coffee filter lined strainer for several hours, add shredded drained cucumber, minced garlic some extra extra virgin olive oli & some salt & call it tzatziki. Use it as a dip or spread & call it heaven. promise. Elizabeth <ranliz524 wrote: Hi, I do need some ideas about fat free plain yogurt. It recommends plain fat free yogurt.
