Guest guest
Wee, I have not seen the recipe you are talking about. Your measurements are not consistent. I do not know how that affected the recipe since I did not see hte recipe. The subs should be something like this: 8 oz.= 1/2 cup 12 oz. = 3/4 cup 1/3 cup= 5 1/3 oz. 3 oz. = 1/8 cup plus 2 Tbsp. = 6 Tbsp. 4 oz.= 1/4 cup I believe you are on metric though.so you may need a calculator to make the changes. There are calculators on the net. Maybe do a search for metric+cups+ounces+ conversion. GB Wheat-Gluten Free - Sweet Rice Bread Recipe extracted from the grou Folks, I attempted to make this bread yesterday with my daughter, Jo-Ling. We sub 3/4 cup as 8 Oz, 1/3 Cup as 3 Oz & 1/2 cup as 4 Oz. We did find that the mixture was rather dry, so we added an extra banana, since our banana used was medium size. When it was ready, we had what looks like a " crumble " :-( The Crumble was so hard. We smashed it up, made a pretty paper bag and eat it as " sweets " , lol :-) Now, we are curious, where did we go wrong? :-((( Best Wishes, Wee Gurubandhu If you cannot see God in all, You cannot see God at all. Guest guest
One of my favorite little tricks... Are you aware that you can type the desired conversion in the URL of a browser window and, in one click, google provides the answer? Try this in the URL text field: 2 cups in oz or 40 miles in km or 20stone in lbs I love this! It doesn't know about weird measures, like gill, though. :-) -s- wwjd wrote: > Standard > Equivalent > > One pinch or dash > = 1/16 teaspoon >
Guest guest
This would also be a bit misleading to us here in Britain where there are 20 fl oz to a pint in imperial measurements rather than the US 16 fl oz to a pint. Here is a link which I have found very helpful in converting cups of various ingredients to metric or imperial measurements: http://www.recipes4us.co.uk/us_cups_to_weight.htm HTH Christie , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > Standard > Equivalent > > One pinch or dash > = > 1/16 teaspoon > > 3 teaspoons > = > 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce liquid) > > 4 tablespoons > = > 1/4 cup (2 ounces liquid) > > 1/3 cup > = > 5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon > > 1/2 cup > = > 8 tablespoons (4 ounces liquid) > > 1 gill > = > 1/2 cup (4 ounces liquid) > > 1 cup > = > 16 tablespoons (8 ounces liquid) > > 2 cups > = > 1 pint (16 ounces liquid) > > 2 pints > = > 1 quart (32 ounces liquid) >
