Guest guest
Just wanted to say welcome to the all the new people. I'm a relatively new member, only been around for a few weeks. This is a great group of people, I'm sure you will feel at home. The long weekend gave me time to try out another new recipe. Today it was from The Everyday Vegan. I've got to say these mushrooms were spectacular. I served them over sweet potatoes as the recipe suggested. Photo on my blog... Spicy Pan Seared Portabella Mushrooms from The Everyday Vegan 1 tbsp hoisin sauce 1 tsp tamari 1/2 tsp of dark soy sauce (or more tamari) 1/4-1/2 tsp of chipolte hot sauce (or other hot sauce) 1 1/2 pounds of portabaella mushrooms (gills removed, sliced into 1 " pieces) 1/2 - 1 tsp olive oil couple pinches of salt and pepper 1 cup of green onions, mostly green part ---cut into 1 " strips. In large bowl, mix hoisin, tamari, soy sauce, and hot sauce. Add mushrooms and gently toss to coat evenly. In a large skillet, heat the oil and season with salt and pepper. Add mushrooms and allow one side to sear for a couple of minutes, then flip to the other side. Add green onions and lightly cook them. Toss mushrooms again and remove from heat.
