Guest guest
Eggplant sounds yummy, a tasty fruit when baked. But... um... where did you find vegetarian crab? Last time I checked, crustaceans were considered to be animalia. Did I miss something? ===== I ended up having a quiet day at home with my kitties on Memorial Day. I made eggplant parm. Saturday a friend and I took a ride to see her aunt in Scranton and ended up stopping in Allentown to have dinner at a pretty nice Japanese restaurant. I had a platter with California Roll and one roll with soft shell crab. That was my memorial day fanfare Jen " The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. Guest guest
Certain seafood is going to be hard for me to give up admittedly. It will take time to not crave it. Tonight I made a recipe from a Madhur Jaffrey cookbook I have that mixed lentils with spinach and spices. Yum. Plain and simple. Guest guest
think of it this way: just like an animal, that flesh you are eating was used to move around, when it had an itch it was scratched in some way. Fish rub up against things, fish DO feel, and they have a face. Lobsters screams have been registered after putting them in a pot of boiling water, but we cannot hear them as they are too high. fish will " run " away from you if you try to hurt them. If that doesn't help, how bout the mercury content in the fish these days, and those white worms that sometimes are missed in fishes like flounder cus when they are cooked ya can't see them. I will think of some more, LOL. Blessings, Chanda - Jen Lott Tuesday, May 31, 2005 8:21 PM Re: Memorial Day Dining Certain seafood is going to be hard for me to give up admittedly. Guest guest
Yeah, the " grossed out " factor keeps me from eating lots of meat now...as well as lots of processed foods. High fructose corn syrup, artificial bioxychloride...yuck! I actually wrote a letter to the editor of Organic Style about a funny article they had about HFCS. They replied to me about it I think they might be publishing it. Jen " The best cure for insomnia is plenty of sleep. " -- W. C.
