Guest guest
Recently I haven't felt my normal, healthy self and I feel that I may need to add vitamins to my diet. One thing that is really missing is Omega3 fatty acids. I went to a store and actually found some organic flax seed capsules, but alas the capsules were made with gelatin. I'm thinking I may need to also take a multi-vitamin. I'm 35 (no children, except my six cats and a dog) and I've never taken a multi before so I don't have the habit down. I do drink one packet of Emergen-C a day, though. I don't smoke, rarely drink, and drink one 12oz cup of black tea a day. So, overall I live a pretty healthy life. Just recently I've really been feeling a total lack of energy and I tire quickly. And I just got over a terrible cold (mid-May) and I feel something else trying to take over! So, although I can do research on line, I would love to get any of your recommendations of websites I could check out with affordable vitamins, that come in a variety of forms. The reason is that I cannot swallow those huge pills, which is one reason why I've stayed away from them for so long. I have a friend who sells liquid and powder vitamin mixes (through Market America) and I do buy the Aloe Vera Juice from her, but the other stuff is pretty spendy. So, any advice/recommendations is greatly appreciated. Denise
Guest guest
Hi, The multi I take probably is too big for your desires and it is a tad expensive. I take Solgar Earth Source Multi-Nutrient Tablets (suitable for vegetarians) http://65.200.170.239/cgi-bin/online_reference_new/online_ref.pl?function=Produc\ t & id=9682564171721 <http://65.200.170.239/cgi-bin/online_reference_new/online_ref.pl?function=Produ\ ct & id=9682564171721> I also take extra E and C from Solgar that are suitable for vegetarians. Let me add that I have read some not so good things about Solgar in the past but unfortunately I don't remember the exact details. I don't wish to cast a bad light on them but should say that they are probably not perfect. I also take a number of other herb formulas from Gaia Herbs http://www.gaiaherbs.com/ Let's see, also some veg garlic capsules from Kyolic, some ginseng mixes from Whole Foods and some papaya and another veg digestive pill (can't remember brand at the moment). I probably take too many pills, obviously. I usually have one glass of red wine a night, and one low dosage aspirin (85 milligrams?) a day. With respect to the herbs I probably have most of them in the yard so I really should create the preparations myself. Too bad most of the day is taken up with the job thing. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your experience, Gary. I do take a C supplement every day (in powder form) and I drink 1 oz of aloe vera juice a day for my digestion. I, too, wish I could grow more of my own herbs. Yes, having a full time job really takes a lot of gardening time away. I do finally have my herb garden space almost ready, just need a load of dirt and I'll be ready to plant. I tend to grow culinary herbs more than healing herbs, though. thanks! Denise , gsmattingly@c... wrote: > Hi, > > The multi I take probably is too big for your desires and it > is a tad expensive. Guest guest
Denise - my twin sister has a really hard time with pills too, and she uses these tiny little multivitamins - you need six to make one day's dose, but they're only the size of a B-complex or a Sudafed type pill, and easy to take. They are vegetarian too, made by New Chapter. http://www.new-chapter.com/product/pro_nutrient.lasso?-database=NC_Products & -lay\ out=Product & -response=%2fproduct%2fproduct.lasso & -recordID=32860 & -search You can't buy them directly at the New Chapter website, but she finds hers in the health food store, and I know they have them at other online sites. Good luck, and I hope you feel more energetic soon!! Amy
