Guest guest
Hello, I'm always looking for new or different breakfast ideas but anytime I ask for them people always send me these crazy extensive recipes that I doubt most of them ever eat for breakfast. So I'm asking, as a general survey, what do you eat for breakfast on a usual day? Thanks! -budgiegirl2003
Guest guest
I eat Cheerio's with a sliced banana and rice milk. In a rush I grab a slice of the flaxseed bread I posted yesterday. budgiegirl2003 <budgiegirl2003 wrote:Hello, I'm always looking for new or different breakfast ideas but anytime I ask for them people always send me these crazy extensive recipes that I doubt most of them ever eat for breakfast. Guest guest
Oatmeal! With fruit sprinkled on it... Raisins... Banana slices... Even strawberries... Guest guest
I'm eat oatmeal, with a little raw sugar and crackers--about 360 days a year! I have pretty much done this since I was a kid, long before I became a vegetarian. Guest guest
My usual breakfasts are pretty simple and most of the time are eaten at my desk at work. My favorite is a whole wheat tortilla with peanut butter, bannana and grape nuts. This morning I had organic strawberry yoghurt and a bannana. Sometimes I'll have a bowl of cereal at home and then a bannana around 9:30. (bannana's are the only fruit I can eat in the morning without getting an upset stomach) Since I have access to boiling water, sometimes I store the individual oatmeals at work and have a bowl/cup of oatmeal. I also keep some type of nut at my desk. Make a quick bread and it that throughout the week. I save my big breakfasts for Sundays. Denise PS Also, check our recipe files, I'm sure there are some simple recipes for breakfast there. , " budgiegirl2003 " <budgiegirl2003> wrote: > Hello, I'm always looking for new or different breakfast ideas but > anytime I ask for them people always send me these crazy extensive > recipes that I doubt most of them ever eat for breakfast. > > So I'm asking, as a general survey, what do you eat for breakfast on a > usual day? > > Thanks! > > -budgiegirl2003
Guest guest
I usually have Honey Bunches of Oats or a poppyseed bagel with cream cheese or margerine. I also tried this fake canadian bacon by light life or something like that and it's awesome! 17 grams of protien in 3 slices too, which is good. I'll also have fruit or a smoothie with whatever fruit I have lying around. Also vanilla soymilk. Guest guest
This morning I had Wheatina with almond milk and sunflower seeds--it was great, and easy to make in the microwave. Guest guest
1 cup cereal, preferably less than 150 calories per serving. 1/4 cup raisins or currants 1/4 cup nuts without added oil or salt 1 cup fat free soy milk I have seven different types of nuts and seven different boxes of cereal. Once a week I take a Tupperware type dish that has a lid and measure all the above ingredients except for the soymilk. All I have to do is measure one cup of soymilk and pour it over the cereal and enjoy it, and I don't repeat the exact same breakfast twice a week. I also have one over-ripe banana every morning. I have one cup of orange juice unless I'm going to exercise right after. Somehow running and orange juice doesn't go well. If I'm going running, I have some toast instead. If I'm really tired, I have some green tea. On the way work, I stop by the cafe where I buy a can of ten calorie Wired Energy Drink and drink that at my desk. If you like fake meat for breakfast, Ives and Lightlife are my favorite brands. I eat them for dinner, though, most often their meatless hot dogs. Guest guest
HI! I am a new vegetarian (8 weeks now!) and I have the same problem with different meals. However, who has time for fancy dishes in teh morning? This is what I tend to eat on different days. Ceral in soymilk fruit and cheese mini bagels (fewer calories) yogurt sometimes even baby spinach in light Italian dressing boiled eggs and fruit I try to fix things that can be quick and usually taken while I drive to work (it's a 20 minute drive). Guest guest
I'm bad, bad, bad & frequently skip breakfast...I have a sweet tooth in the morning and am really happy with a sweet morsel...but if I do eat, I am usually good & have a piece of toast or 1/2 a bagel, with butter...or toast with butter & marmite (yeah, I'm the marmite lover)...I like " raw " toast too, or just plain bread with butter or marmite also. Oh and coffee with no fat half & half, every morning! m
Guest guest
Since it has been SOOOO hot here, at night I have started making smoothies with frozen bananas and whatever other fruit I pick up...plus some vanilla soy milk. I keep the contanier in the fridge and have a smoothie in the morning. Great pick me up. Jen .... Guest guest
Sometimes I eat cereal and soy milk. Sometimes I like a bagel. Sometimes I like half a bagel with some soy cheese melted on it. I also like oatmeal and PB & J sandwiches. Enjoy your breakfasts. Gayle
Guest guest
thanks for all of the replies! Ive gotten many ideas for what to eat for breakfast when I move back to the USA and some brands that are available there that weren't (or i just never bought them) when I lived there before. For the record my German breakfast is a bowl of cereal (muesli w/nuts, seeds, cornflakes, oats, fruit pieces), a glass of milk with a little cocoa powder and a piece of fruit-lately nectarine. Keep the ideas coming if you like, otherwise thanks!
Guest guest
Ooh! That faux canadian bacon is great! Put it inside an english muffin with a slice of Soymage Vegan " cheese " and some scrambled tofu (have I posted my recipe? It kicks ass! ) and you've got a Tofu McVegan. These are Scott's favorite breakfast! Veronica At 06:02 PM 6/15/2005 -0700, you wrote: >I usually have Honey Bunches of Oats or a poppyseed bagel with cream >cheese or margerine.
