Guest guest
You have fibromyalgia? My Mother was diagnosied 5 years ago, she has so much pain at times and no energy. She has problems with sugar creating yeast. Keep your chin up, there are a lot of things to read up on. I can send you a list of her favorite heplful books if you like tonight when I get home.........sending you a hug, Donna Jane <twoslim wrote:Susie, I'd love some recipes. I just received The Fibromyalgia Cookbook by S. Smith. In it, she has a list of foods to eliminate (white flour and wheat are on the list) and then re-introduce to your diet in order to determine which foods cause you the most pain. I know that green peppers, tomatoes and eggplant will cause trouble and boy do I love them! Thanks for offering recipes, any time you get to it, it would be of help. Guest guest
Donna...Thanks for the sandwich idea....shredded carrots, PB and raisins. I also love raisins. I'd love to hear about any resourses reguarding fibromyalgia that your mother might suggest. Have had fibro for about 5 yrs also. May things trigger my pain and fatigue and I'm trying to figure that all out. I think eating vegetarian helps, I know red meat is a trigger. Guest guest
The sad thing is my poor Mom is 81 yrs old and she has had this for over 12 years but the doctors were not very kind to her. They told her to rest, take vitamins, maybe she should eat meat (she's always been a vegetarian), that she has stress, all types of things that didn't make sense. They were made when she turned down the narcotics prescribed for pain also. I will go grab her favorite books and list them for you. If you have questions just email me offline as I will be more than happy to ask her for you. my email is thelilacflower She has several books but these are the 3 that have helped her the most: The Fibromyalgia Nutirtion Guide by Mary Moeller, L.P.N. and Dr, Joe M. Elrod Inside Fibromyalgia by Marl J. Pellegrino M.D. (he actually has FM) Fibromyalgia for Dummies by Roland Staud M.D. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ,Fibromyalgia and other Invisible Illnesses by Katrina Nerne PH.D. Hope this helps you..Donna Jane <twoslim wrote: Donna...Thanks for the sandwich idea....shredded carrots, PB and raisins. I also love raisins. Guest guest
They suggested that might be my ongoing problem with my back (super-extreme muscle tension, they said), but it's responded well to taking lots of (various types of) vitamins, cutting out caffeine, upping my psych meds (HUGE help), and acupuncture. I have heard rumor that this is heavily related to anxiety disorders. I don't know if that's true or not, but whatever my problem was/is it worked for me. I'm still somewhat limited, but I'm getting better. Yoga helps too. Just another thing to think about since apparently whatever was wrong with me was quite similar if not the same thing. I don't know enough about Fibromyalgia to really understand it, but that's some of what I was told. I refuse to cut anything else out of my diet or I'll have to eat rocks and sand, though. No yeast problems here (knock on wood) since I quit dairy many years ago. When I ate dairy, it was a huge problem. Veronica At 07:21 AM 6/17/2005 -0700, you wrote: >You have fibromyalgia?
