Guest guest
Hi Donna, thanks for the welcome. I am not going to use the flaxseed. I just found it today and I had dated it but forgotten about it. There is a health food store close by. Looking forward to getting to know you. Guest guest
Welcome in Kay. There's iron in cream of wheat, molasses, root veggies like beets and also your dark green veggies, beans, etc. among a bunch of other foods. You don't need meat. Doctors are so quick to push meat off on a person with anemia or a low red blood count..............I posted the zucchini flax bread, I'll look thru the files and see if it's in there yet for you. I'm not sure it's a good idea to use the ground flax if it's a year old and hasn't been frozen or refrigerated............ Donna ol.com> wrote: Hi all, I'm a new member and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kay and I live in Indiana. I have been a vegetarian (off and on) for about 20 years. The reason I've been off and on is because of my anemia. When I don't eat meat (which I hate) my hemoglobin becomes dangerously low. The only thing I can figure is that I'm not eating enough protein. I am adding lots of tofu and beans but it's still low. At times, my doctor insists I eat meat and when I do, my hemoglobin goes up. I am eating vegatarian again and will just keep an eye on my hemoglobin and eats lots of tofu and beans. Anyone have any suggestions or had this problem? Thanks and sorry to write so much! Guest guest
Hi Kay, nice meeting you too. Do you have a store that sells bulk flaxseeds? Very inexpensive this way and grind them in the blender. Store in an airtight container or Ziploc baggies in the freezer. I use ground flaxseed in cookie and quick bread recipes. I just decrease the flour by 1/4 cup and toss 1/4 cup ground flaxseed into the batter. I also sprinkle it across my veggies and over the top of rice. It's has a wonderful flavor. Enjoy your bread. After you make a loaf and it's cool. Slice in think pieces and wrap and store in the freezer. they thaw fast or you can toss in the microwave for 25 seconds or so or even toast. I agrees, it's best to buy some fresh seeds. Enjoy, Donna bookjunky wrote: Hi Donna, thanks for the welcome. I am not going to use the flaxseed.
