Guest guest
hi everyone, i know we have discussed this several times on this list, but i'm too tired (and lazy) to look back through all the messages.... what is the best vegan cheese in terms of taste and meltability (is that a word? lol)? thanks in advance, susie
Guest guest
Veganrella is great on pizza (grate it), but the best is an oat-based one...I can't remember the name. It makes great grilled " cheese " sandwiches. There's another one too...darn it, I've forgotten the name. Hard to find, but really good. Hrm...I guess I wasn't a lot of help, was I? Guest guest
This is one of them...actually probably the best out there: http://www.imearthkind.com/what's%20new.htm I found it in Atlanta at a kick ass natural foods market in Little 5, but have been having trouble finding it anywhere else. I may have to order online. Oh and yeah! I guess it is made by " Follow Your Heart " . The oat one is Vegi-Kaas. It's a little easier to find, and the cheddar makes great baked " cheese " and tomato sandwiches or nachos. I don't eat a ton of faux cheese, but it's nice for a change of pace. I also like the Soymage Vegan slices on sandwiches, but they're not the best for melting. They are, however low-cal and fat free or close to it. The meltier ones tend to be fattier.
