Guest guest
Let me know if you find it, if not I'll send you the web address . I get it at Whole Foods. When I worked in a hotel the Chef was from France and he wouildn't use anything but Celtic Sea Salt, no one here knew what it was. What a taste and he told it held the key to flavor. He would toss ab assistant out of the kitchen if that dared to bring MSG, Accent or Lawry's seasoning in the area. It does have a lot of good minerals in it. I doesn't have that strong sodium flavor either. It's wonderful on my cantaloupe.....LOL " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x wrote:hi donna, i've been reading about the celtic sea salt lately.....not only is it supposed to be better tasting, but also a " miracle cure-all " . lol. i don't know about the cure-all part, but it seems that the way it's harvested is purer and without the toxins and added chemicals of table salt. i've looked for it here in fredericksburg and no luck. i know i will be able to find it in austin. it's on my list of things to pick up. susie --- GeminiDragon <thelilacflower wrote: > Hi Susie, > Celtic sea salt is the only salt I use for > everything. Guest guest
I've heard that the flavor is much stronger so you use less of it which is better for you than user more of an amount of table salt (sodium and such). Can I get this at Whole Foods? I've purchased a salt (bulk bin) from another health food store but I don't think it was sea salt. It does taste better and I use it in all of my cooking but the granules don't look as big as when I see the cooks (on the shows) sprinkle their sea salt onto food. There is also a grey salt which sounds interesting. Thanks for the info, Susie. S. On 6/25/05, GeminiDragon wrote: > > Hi Susie, > Celtic sea salt is the only salt I use for everything. I haven't heard of table salt having toxins...it's just plain NaCl, with iodine added unless you buy sea salt. The neat varieties of salt (and I *do* like them ) are the way they are because of " impurities " . That's not a bad thing, it just means that there are other minerals in it as well as NaCl. That's what gives it its characteristic flavor and the benefits of trace minerals.
