Guest guest
So to try to bring things back on topic (heh), the other night I had a dream that I was riding in a car with 2 of my cousins, my sister and some friends of my cousins. We were all hungry and so one of my cousins says 'Hey how about a platter of some fresh animal carcasses! " and we pull up to " Jim Bob's House of Animal Carcasses " (i swear im not making this up) and everyone cheers except me and I explain I'm a vegetarian and then everyone whines and moans about how they have to go way out of the way (apparently in my dream there were no other restaurants for miles) just for me and laying a big guilt trip on me. And even after I explained that it wasnt that hard to find a place to eat where I could find something, even a Burger King or Olive Garden or something, they still acted like I was majorly putting them out. I woke up both annoyed at my dream cousins and worried that something like this (though hopefully not to that extent) will happen in the future. It also sort of made me sad that convenience for food wins out over health (or environment, animal rights, etc) so often and how they were guilt tripping me but I couldnt guilt trip them back for what they were planning on eating. My mom I expect will be ok with me being vegetarian but I don't think my dad will understand and all and I have all these fears about what he'll do and say. And I only see my cousins once or twice a year and thats Christmas (where they are known for their ham biscuits and sausage balls) and sometimes memorial day (grillout!). So hopefully I'll survive! Not really looking for advice, just wanted to put this down on " paper " because I think you guys are the only people that would understand where I'm coming from when I explain it. Heh. PS-I have Harry Potter UK edition! But I'm not reading it for 11 more days. -Katie

Guest guest
Remembering baxk to 1969... when I became vegetarian... a friend had nightmares! She dreamed that even candy bars were laced with xhunks of meat... and there was nothing flesh-free for me to eat! I still think of how her concerns, causing those dreams, all those years ago, may not be so far from true every time, while grocery shopping, that I read ingredients in what should be meat-less... and put it back on its shelf! " The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. If people pursued this same feline wisdom, there'd be a lot fewer misunderstandings. Guest guest
ack that would be a terrible dream. im glad im not the only one who has had a bad dream relating to being veggie. that would be terrible though to have everything laced with meat. im already anxious about how little there is available for eating healthy but i'm hoping i'll return to the us and go to a grocery or organic store and be surprised. -katie , Jiraph Wirpel <wirpel> wrote: > > Remembering baxk to 1969... when I became > vegetarian... a friend had nightmares!
