Guest guest
I never see a sandwich served liken that. Is it served open faced? Sounds wonderful. I have some bagels in the freezer too.Donna subprong <subprong wrote:Some bagels have toppings cooked into them (including cheese). I've found bagel places to be the best source for (lacto/ovo) veggie sandwiches in my experience. They always seem to have the best options (already on the menu) and you can generally mix and match on anything else without any fuss. I like that you can have fresh veggie toppings (tomatoes, sprouts, red onion, etc) with a rich cream cheese on a bagelwich.. > > [
Guest guest
They are so good! I haven't had one in awhile but it's still one of my favorites. Another good sammich is some french bread, tomato slices, pickled jalps, red onion, black olives, sprouts, swiss cheese (or meunster), and some spicy mustard. Guest guest
Yumola! I make your second sandwich on sourdough and I sprinkle a dash of balsamic vinegar on top. I'll try your bagelwich by the weekend. Donna subprong <subprong wrote:They are so good! I haven't had one in awhile but it's still one of my favorites. Guest guest
Great idea. I just got a new toaster oven. I'm currently only using it as a tortilla toaster but that sounds wonderful for toasting open face sammiches (like Quizznos). S. (recipe may be in the files as I posted it a while ago). They also make little pans and you can make 6 baby muffins (although I confess to not having done that - what's the use of 6 tiny muffins?! What do you do with the rest of the batter, eh? :-))
Guest guest
LOL - those muffins would be bite size. I got this little catalog with the toaster thing and it had options to buy the mini-muffin pan, pizza " stone " (no kidding) and a few other things. I don't think I'm going to get that fancy with the thing but it's interesting to know that the options are out there, lol. S.
