Grill Out!

I had a grill out with some friends tonight and I, being the only

vegetarian had some curry pinepple tofu filets while everyone else hat

various meat or poultry. I didn't make any comments though there were

many comments from others that left things wide open where I could

have. But my tofu filets came in packages of two and I was only eating

one...and a girl next to me decided she didn't like her dish after a

bite and I offered my other tofu filet. So she had it grilled up and

decided she thought it was good! So that was a positive experience for

me. I felt I had shared food that she normally would not have tried and

she ended up liking it even over her other grilled meat. I'm glad I

didn't make any comments because I had a really great night, especially

considering I probably won't be seeing most of my friends again and I

was glad that I could eat with them and be able to share in their

company and friendship.

Just in a happy mood and wanted to share.

That's really cool, Katie!

how are you doing with the packing, and the idea that you'll be

leaving??

~~~ disregard that question if it does anything to lessen that feeling
of happiness you are having, because happy is a good thing to be! =)
peace,
Jenni
That's wonderful, Katie. That was so kind of you to share your food (and
your way of life) and it sounds like you had a wonderful time. Kudos to you!
I am doing ok with packing. Some stuff I cant pack until the day before
the flight due to either needing them or else cleaning in preparation
for my room inspection on the same day. I'm definitely packing my
suitcase/duffel to the brim but I think I'll pass the weight limits.
Luckily I only have to lug them all around two airports. The idea that
I'm leaving makes me very sad as you can probably guess but I try to
keep my chin up (as Charlotte the spider says) and think about all of
the things I have learned and am taking with me from the experiences
here and how while I'm leaving Germany, I'm not leaving German since
I'll be still reading books and talking to people in German and in a
year going to grad school to teach it. And while I probably wont have
the money to come back soon I am planning on coming back to visit
probably after grad school is done. So overall although its sad I'm
trying to make it a really positive thing, because it is.
Still on the high from last nights happiness so nothings phasing me
much right now heh.
lol...
I remember thinking the same thing after our years in Germany...
it will be interesting to see what things no longer live up to your
memory of them =)
That happened to me with a few things... thankfully! Boy I CRAVED Taco
Bell when we lived there..and at the time there was none , at least,
none near us...
I no longer crave it! haha =)
