If he be really and seriously seeking to live a

good life, the first thing from which he will

abstain will always be the use of animal food,

because ...its use is simply immoral, as it

involves the performance of an act which is

contrary to the moral feeling -- killing.

Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)

" The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. If

people pursued this same feline wisdom, there'd be a lot fewer

misunderstandings. "

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch

Do you know which of his works this quote is taken from?

With thanks,

I'm new here. I'm also new to following a vegetarian

diet. I actually recognized this sentiment from my

vegetarian practice and lifestyle backround research.

Apparently, its from, The View From the Vegetarian

Side (Sant Bani Press).
