There must be some sort of trick to cleaning/rinsing fresh spinach. The last

time I got a batch to mix in with my lettuce for salads I could not get

everything out. I put it through the salad spinner several times. Still when

I'd eat salads I'd feel like there is sand mixed in. It was gross, loud

(internally) and annoying as heck.

probably the best trick is soaking it in water.... just sort of move it

gently around in the water, the leaves should float, while the sand

should sink..

if it is really sandy spinach... soak it a few times! =)

then you could spin that spinach.

=)

I find it works better for sandy spinach (and leeks!) to fill the sink

with water and swish, repeat, and then use the spinner to dry. The

actual submersing in water seems to work a lot better than running

water over...
