Guest guest
i want to make a soup in a crockpot using this recipe i found, but the recipe calls for ham. i want to sub in some TVP granules that are flavored like Bacos or ham bits. Does anyone have a reconstituting or flavoring method recipe for making plain TVP taste ham-like? Thanks! ~ pt ~ I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. ~ Susan B Anthony, reformer and suffragist (1820-1906)

That would probably do the trick.
Guest guest
I haven't tried flavoring tvp (but DOnna's recipes are going to come in handy)...but I usually just add a few drops of liquid smoke and a pinch extra salt... hope someone else has a better idea for you! Guest guest
This is a smart group! I agree. Add some liquid smoke if you have any . Also, I believe our ZZ-Top cookbook has substitute broths for the different me (AT) ts (DOT) I'd try to make the broth or at least add some of those herbs and spices with the recipe/tvp to gain the desired effect. Please let us know what you end up doing, PT, and how it turns out.
