Defending my nom de plum, this isn't really cooking...

If you want a bacon flavored and crispy texture in

your potato, shake in some Bacos. I'm sure that Bacos

are veggie, they might be vegan.

Bacos are vegetarian, thank heavens!!

I can't stand the morningstar strips, but there's a refrigerator brand

(lite life perhaps) bacon that is not too bad, we make BLT's and bacon

burgers with it. And of course, I love toast with peanut butter and

bacon...

I was curious about this too.

" There are several different brand names this type

of product falls under. Be VERY CAREFUL to read

the labels. Some use animal fats or animal

products for " flavor " , others do not. BTW, I don't

believe any are VLF/FF, but are fine for an

occasional treat. The Betty Crocker brand are

veg safe as are the " Fakin Bacon Bits " found in

health food or other veg friendly stores. "

" Bac~Os bits and chips are made with the goodness of

soy and can help you put these healthy eating tips

into practice. In addition, Bac~Os is now Kosher and

contains no added MSG. "

However,

" GM soya flour has been spied in “Betty Crocker” BacOs

bacon chips for salad topping on sale in Scotland. "

interesting links...what is gm soya flour?

funny thing is, my son & I love bacos, but I've not bought them in a

long time, I'm really trying to go as natural as possible lately &

haven't shopped at stores that carry them...perhaps this is a good

thing...
