baking with stone Hi Jane

Donna, if the recipe says to bake on ungreased cookie sheet I don't put

anything on my stone. I do make drop cookies on it. The stone is very well

seasoned, very brown and very smooth (Pampered Chief). I actually, can't

think of anything that I bake on it that needs oil on the surface, however;

I'm sure there are foods that might need a little.

No, the cooking time isn't shortened by much, if any. The browning of

the cookies is very even. However, when baking my pies in the stone pie

pan, I have cut the baking time by 5 minutes. I love my stone and probably

should use it more. By George, I think I will!

oil the stone and do they bake faster. I will try that.

loaf breads really rise up extra high and pop right out.

Thanks Jane, I will dig mine back out. It's funny how you can use a few kitchen

utensils all the time and a bunch more get stored and then all of the sudden you

have a recipe and need one of those items you stashed and you are reacquainted

with it again. During last winter I dug out all my gorgeous designed bundt pans

and baked in them over and over again. I never tire of the good old crockpot.

OK, now you've done it, I have to get that crockpot out again. I haven't

used it in a long time. I just went to the files and there are many recipes

to try. Donna, even though I see lots of recipes, I have to ask, do YOU

have a favorite crockpot recipe. Your recipes are always so good!

coincidentally I got this from my crockpot group today. I own the group but I

have become uninterested because well, the recipes are not usually vegetarian. I

was happy to get this one:

I made this yesterday & my 7 year old LOVED it--cleaned her bowl

out!!! The noodles were a little soggy for me, so next time I would

add them about 30 minutes before the soup is done. I didn't use

onion--due to my picky husband :0) Had it with a nice bread & my

son liked dipping it in the sauce. Made great leftovers for lunch

today. Thanks for sharing!!

aaaawwwwwwwwwwwww thank you Jane. You bet I have and I better eat my dinner and

then post. I have burnt my beloved steamer twice in 2 weeks.. Now don't ask, I

can crispyize (that's what I call it) a steamer in no time. Never cut myself

with a knife but i do with the potato peeler, and I burn up steamers but not

pans. Can you believe that?????
