Guest guest
Does anyone have any preferences on cooking oils. I need to get a bottle. I actually only cook with olive oil which is suppose to be better for you but doesn't have a high smoke point (which is why I'm going to get something else). I've perused the net ( http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/07/26/earlyshow/health/main631719.shtml) a bit but wanted to get some tips from people who are actually using the oils. And especially from a flavor point of view. I'm thinking about peanut oil or flaxseed oil but am still undecided. I'm already going to make another batch of Donnas black bean burgers and i'm hoping a higher heat will crispin these bad boys up. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Thanks Helen. It's not as pricey as I had expected. They supply mostly baking recipes for the oil but I did see a couple of " frying " recipes so I assume it's good for that too. Guest guest
You can't cook with flaxseed oil. Other than that...I can't help you because I only use olive or seseme oils to cook with. ~Mel > - > subprong > > Sunday, August 21, 2005 3:51 PM > Cooking Oils > > > Does anyone have any preferences on cooking oils. > I need to get a bottle. Guest guest
I use peanut oil or canola oil for high temp cooking. Depending on what I'm making sometimes I shake a couple of drops of sesame oil as well. Those black bean burgers will fry up nicely with the peanut oil.
