Guest guest
I microwave my potatoes too. They taste better in the salad this way. Too mushy when you boil them. I'll try the ranch idea next time...Thanks, Donna PuterWitch <puterwitch wrote:tonight I had a portabella cap marinated in Italian dressing and grilled on the bbq, with a slice of Vidalia and tomato on a bun. also had potato salad. here is a big tip, when you make potato salad, don't cook all that flavor out by boiling those spuds!! heck no!!! LOL, microwave them and remove them about a minute shy of what you would for baked potatoes. And use the red ones if you can. It's some really flavorful potato salad all righty! and also, add some ranch dressing to the salad for some real yumminess ) blessings, Chanda " First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is. Guest guest
your welcome. yeah I peel mine. I like the skins in other things, but I don't like skins in my spud salad. try adding a little Vidalia onion to, and some ranch is great along with yourregular dressing that you put on. I use mayo and sour cream too. ) - Jenni Billings Monday, August 22, 2005 8:54 AM Re: Hi Chanda potato salad OOOH.. that's a mighty interesting idea!!! do you peel the red ones for your tater salad, or just bake and cube?? oooh.. yeah, I've been wanting to make some adn this little tip will make it really easy! thanks Chanda! =) jenni On Monday, August 22, 2005, at 06:22 AM, GeminiDragon wrote: > I microwave my potatoes too. Guest guest
Could be my microwave is a little too powerful for the red potatoes since they are smaller. They always get shrunk up and tough comparted to the russets. I love to steam the red ones and toss with the mayo, etc. Donna PuterWitch <puterwitch wrote:<pushes Donna aside and steps up to the mike> my red potatoes were great micrwaved. And the red ones are my favorite cause they are the most tasty, in my most humble opinion of course. hugs, Chanda ----- " First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is. Guest guest
You may have to cook the potatoes at lower power or a shorter amount of time. Gayle
