My step-father-in-law (whom I adore & he's a total " foodie " ) loves

to reminisce about egg creams & celery tonic. He's from NY living

in Jersey. I'm glad you mentioned this...I recently got my son an

Italian Soda at a coffee place out here (WA) and I was expecting

soda and flavoring, then they added milk - he loved it, in fact I

made him one at home today - but I thought for sure it was an egg

cream when the milk was added. Guess it is one of those regional

things?

If anyone would like more info on an egg cream go to Google and type:

original egg cream. There are some good links with all kinds of

stories and one link with a recipe. People state that only a certain

type of chocolate syrup can be used to get the real flavor.
