Guest guest
If you have either an Islamic or Jewish grocery, you should be able to find tahini there, though it's most likely made from toasted sesame seeds. Harder to find is the raw tahini, which I prefer. Maranatha makes the best tahini - again, I'm not saying that just because they're here in Ashland. I've found other brands to be somewhat watery, which doesn't work so well in making the cheese. If you must, there has to be some online place where you can order tahini....Ok, found one: http://www.shopnatural.com has Maranatha raw tahini: http://www.shopnatural.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? Screen=PROD & Product_Code=1258 & Category_Code=4056 & Product_Count=54. It's kind of spendy compared to what I'm used to here; more like what I paid for it in Tacoma... And you'd love it here in Ashland. You should visit sometime just to seee.... I've made my own pnut butter before, far as I know tahini's sesame butter, should be easy in a blender. And you'd love it here in Ashland. Guest guest
Sesame seeds are so small. I wonder if a coffee grinder would work? If you try it, please let us know however you end up making it.
