Guest guest
Tofu is something I have yet to try. Back when my son was younger and becoming very picky with his food, his pediatrician suggested that I buy some Tofu and other items (different textures, etc). When I looked at the Tofu package, it said that it should be kept in a bowl of water and the water should be changed every day. Wow....sounded more like a pet than a food! LOL! I decided not to buy it. :-D Is Tofu good? Does it have much of a taste at all? What exactly is Tofu? Is it made from beans? What can you do with it? Something makes me think that I saw a mac-n-cheese recipe once with tofu instead of cheese, but I'm not sure about that. Thanks! Guest guest
I like to make baked tofu. I drain it and press the liquid out and then I slice it about a 1/4 inch thick and marinate it and bake. Yum
Guest guest
what's the best way to get the tofu's outter shell crispy. i want to void frying things, and the baking is good. but the tofu gets chewy. people say that if the oil is really hot, the tofu will get crispy and it won't be too oily, but i'm afraid to put the tofu in the oil, since the water causes the oil to splash. (even if i drain the water out) -parag On 10/25/05, glpveg4life <glpveg4life wrote: > > I like to make baked tofu. > > I drain it and press the liquid out and then I slice it about a 1/4 inch > thick and marinate it and bake. > > Yum > > >
Guest guest
I haven't tried this, but I recall reading about a technique whereby you dredge the tofu in something like an egg wash followed by crushed up corn flakes before baking. -Erin , " Parag B.
