Guest guest
Hi, I live in MS and my son and I are visiting Washington DC in a couple of weeks. Another vegetarian list has offered some good suggestions for restaurants. Does anyone here have any recommendations for places that are good and currently still open? Thanks. .... Be kind. Be of good cheer. Dick

I don't live in DC anymore, but I know this is open: Jaleo. It's a Spanish tapas restaurant (www.jaleo.com) and there are three in the area. It's not strictly vegetarian, but there are loads of veg choices!! Wonderful food! There are also many ethnic restaurants downtown (Thai, Ethiopian, Indian, Moroccan, pretty much anything you can think of) and most of them would have at least a few veggie choices. Also, not sure where you are going, but if you'll be up in MD (Rockville), The Vegetable Garden is tasty organic veg Chinese. Enjoy!!! Come back and tell us where you ate!! :-)
Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions about DC restaurants. Our plans changed though when I tripped and broke my foot. We'll be going some time in the future. .... Be kind. Be of good cheer. Dick

Guest guest
> I " m sorrry about your foot , Dick! > wishing you fast and happy healing! Ditto on that, Dick! Got another restaurant for your future trip (and anyone else living there!). I found out about this place after we had left the area, so I haven't been to it.. however, my husband is there on business and I suggested it to him. Yesterday he and two of our close friends who still live in the area went, and they called me gushing over how wonderful it is! http://www.rockcreekrestaurant.com/index2.html
Guest guest
This site might be helpful: http://www.vegdc.com/ I already mentioned Soul Vegetarian, but Teaism is also a really wonderful place, though not totally veg. Great tea and vegan bento boxes. YUM! Busara was very fun too. Great drinks and atmosphere. Vegetable Garden is tasty, though I always get a tummyache from all the faux meat. It's goooood though. Sushi-Ko is very good if you don't mind paying the prices. Order the fresh wasabi! If you need a hotel, this place was fairly cheap and kicks butt! http://hotel-travel.hotelus.com/index.jsp?hotelID=126825 & locale= & cid=99572 & pageN\ ame=hotInfo & cid=99572 & hotnetrates=true & mode=1 Veronica ___________ Spoil your canine gourmand...the Yummy for Dogs Cook Book is now available: www.lulu.com/yummyfordogs All profits from my royalties will be donated to animal rescue and advocacy organizations! Guest guest
i checked the website and their menu. [looks nice] They list quite a few meat dishes so i wouldn't consider them a veggie restaurant per say. But they do offer quite a few nice vegetarian sounding dishes and salads as well. Better than most, and it stated " chef's vegetable plate available upon request " . ~ pt ~ In harvest time, harvest-folk, servants and all, Should make altogether good cheer in the hall. ~ Thomas Tusser, Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandry: August's Husbandry. ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Amy " <sandpiperhiker> wrote: > Got another restaurant for your future trip (and anyone else living > there!).
