Guest guest
They sure do GB Plus the grounds help keep the slugs out. I'm against animal cruelty but only have just a tiny guilty twinge helping the slugs along on their karmic journey. Peace, Diane , " greatyoga " <greatyoga wrote: > > Diane, > > Worms love coffee. Guest guest
I have used the http://www.squarefootgardening.com/ method of gardening. It is a soilless mixture that you use. 1/3 peatmoss, 1/3 vemiculite, 1/3 varied compost(I really like Mushroom compost). You mix it together in frames about ground. Weeds are almost nil and wow the results are stunning. Very pretty and productive gardens. It is so easy. He has just came out with a new book on his method. I am trying to find the Earth Worm Castings that he mentions in the book. I've heard it is Black Gold and will increase your garden produce by 8 fold. So far no luck finding it at any of the nurseries around here and they don't even have a source to order it from. When I have called places on the internet, the shipping cost is unbelievable, so haven't gone that route. I'm still looking though. Guest guest
Thanks Diane, I didn't know that. Does it work because of the smell or because it cuts them? Guest guest
I don't know why coffee grounds deter slugs GB but it seems to work. I learned about using them in my worm bin and in the garden from the OrganicHomesteadingandGardening group on . Copper strips also work in the garden. And, if the deterrents don't work, there're beer traps. At least the slugs drown happy Peace, Diane , " greatyoga " <greatyoga wrote: > > Thanks Diane, > > I didn't know that.
