Guest guest
1.) Hello to the newbies, enjoy the group, I sure love time spent in here. 2.) I switched to Celtic salt after reading all the posts a few months back, it doesn't take near as much to flavor your food and it's better than Accent as a flavor enhancer. Salt lasts a long while in the cupboard, I have no problem buying it, I would rather spend my extra dollars on flavor, more than likely it would be money wasted on a bad meal out and I make many meals with my shaker of white gold. 3.) Judy I thought you might enjoy this recipe since you are in the middle of a heat wave. Chilled Blueberry Soup 1 pint fresh blueberries 1 cup orange juice 1/2 cup silken tofu 1/2 Tbl. augar 1 Tbl. light brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 Tbl. yogurt (optional) In a blender or food processor, puree the blueberries, tofu, orange juice, sugar, brown sugar and nutmeg until smooth. Pour into a large bowl and chill for at least one hour. Ladle into 4 bowls, place a teaspoon of yogurt on top and make a design by dragging a toothpick through it Sports Fantasy Football ’06 - Go with the leader. Start your league today! Guest guest
Hi, I don't post much, but I had a question about this recipe. It's perfect for us because we have three blueberry bushes in our front yard and we get about 5 gallons of blueberries a year! Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone knew of a substitute for the silken tofu. We are, first of all, budding vegetarians. Secondly, we are on a *very* tight budget (only about $200/month for 2 adults and 4 children). We shop at the SuperWalMart, and usually, if we can't find it there, we just don't get it. Their tofu options tend to be rather small. We also don't really like tofu. Please feel free to contact me offlist, if you'd like. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Guest guest
Wal-Mart usually has the Mori-Nu Silken Tofu in the boxes that don't have to be refrigerated, over in the open refrigerated produce cases. - Mandi Thursday, June 22, 2006 10:57 AM Re: Chilled Blueberry Soup for Judy, a big hello to the newbies & salt opinion We shop at the SuperWalMart, and usually, if we can't find it there, we just don't get it.
