Guest guest
) It's pronounced Fyeri kah kee. It's a seasoning for rice, the Japanese use it primarily for rice, I put it on everything. Sometimes it's just seaweed and sesame seeds, sometimes it has bonito flakes, so you have to check... there are many different flavors. oxxoRobyn Furikake!??! Guest guest
AH! Thanks for the information. I can check for it- again if i get into the city. Darn that Bonito fish- it shows up in ALOT of Japanese things doesn't it? I bought some noodles in a cup thing here- that had bonito in it- and while I was eating it, looked bonito up online- cos i was thinking it was a sea veg.... and nearly choked when i found it to be a fish!! I LOVE that you helped me to know how to pronounce it too- I am real stickler for that. I dont want to upset anyone- but Lord! when someone says " JAL- a- PEE-nose " for Jalapenos- i just want to correct them. Nicely of course. I can't get the right " n " on my keyboard so it has the tilde over it-so i understand why alot of people don't get the 'enyay' part of it. I hate it when I find out I have said something wrong for years and no one corrected me.....but I come from a family who is not terribly interested in much more than meat and potatoes! lol- so most in my family wouldn't know if i was saying it wrong or right. I am just a word/language fiend. OK- I have had my grumble- no offense meant to anyone Thanks again for your insightful information. Guest guest
) Around here, the kids run around eating shredded cuttlefish. ) I've tasted it, it's not bad.... Yes, living on Islands, the Japanese eat a lot of seafood... making use of whatever bounty Mother Earth can give them. ) oxoxRobyn AH! Thanks for the information.
