Guest guest
No, they're not mooncakes. They're just cooked/mashed sweet potato w/ some kind of breading. I'm not sure it they're baked or fried - or what the breading is exactly. I'm going to do some experimenting and see if I can duplicate it. --Stacee , " isisdarkshade " <isisdarkshade wrote: > > I'm not at all familiar with these puffs??? > Are they mooncakes with sesame seeds sprinkled over them? > > Isis > >
Guest guest
You know I have quite a few Chinese cookbooks and I can't locate a recipe for you. I have 2 Chinese friends and neither one of them knows about this either. I will keep hunting for you. I love any type of potato so I'd enjoy the recipe also. Guest guest
I've had something like fried sweet potato nugget things at a local barbeque restaurant as well as an Oriental style buffet. They are commercially made and addictive. I'm still trying to find the maker online but did find this sweet potato croquettes recipe http://southernfood.about.com/od/sweetpotatoes/r/bl30319a.htm Also found a sweet potato won ton recipe that I will probaly try soon as it gets cooler.. http://busycooks.about.com/od/appetizerrecipe1/r/sweetpotawonton.htm Worst comes to worst, I will bite the bullet and go out to dinner tomorrow with my husband and ask the bbq people where they get the sweet potato things. (After ordering my sweet potato nuggets, cole slaw and tea, lol) Jeanne in Georgia Get on board. You're invited to try the new Mail Beta. Guest guest
I hope it wasn't like this recipe for sweet potato puffs: http://www.justgreatrecipes.com/recipe.asp?res=1259 There's marshmallow in them there balls! And most restaurants likely aren't using a vegetarian kind. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog
