Guest guest
Ok all you groupies..I recently heard on the news that people who use hair dyes have 37 % more cancer of the blood and bladder than those who don't. Now I need some safe 'tested' hair color to help me ease into this gray stage. I know the health food markets sell hair coloring products but they are a bit expensive and I am not sure how safe they really are. Anyone have any experience with this? I am thinking of the old lemon-sunshine treatment that we did as teenagers to lighten our hair. I don't mind the gray but I recently died my hair a darker color and it is fading fast. LOL..My hair is long and I am going to have a problem cutting it until it grows out to it's natural color..What ever that is..Ha ha . Guess I will have to wear hats until then or some of you come up with a natural safe dye. Smiles and hugs Deanna
Guest guest
I use henna. 100% herbal, no strange chemicals or anything like that. I'm also a natural redhead so I get away with it. I'm just going silver prematurely.

Guest guest
Hi genny, Hibiscus and henna will bring out reds or red highlights. Chamomile and lemon bring out blonde highlights. These take several months (except the henna) to notice a difference. I've been using chamomile on my light brown hair for a year and a half now & only noticed it looks lighter this summer. I tried the hibiscus but lost patience; I didn't know then that it takes so long. Have never tried henna myself but my sis used to use it & it really played up the red in her dark brown hair. www.pioneerthinking.com has lots of good natural hair care recipes. That is totally scary about the hair dye & cancer.
