this recipe looked odd for me too, so I retyped it in Arial Font. Please double

check =)

Sesame Rounds

Based on a Crisco Cookbook recipe

Sesame Rounds

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cup yellow cornmeal

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup solid vegetable shortening (Like Crisco)

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons vinegar

2 tablespoons melted butter

1/4 cup sesame seeds, reserving about 2 tablespoons

Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and sesame

seeds in

bowl. Add solid vegetable shortening, cut in with pastry blender or two knives

till it looks

like coarse crumbs. (Or use food processor, just a couple pulses.) Stir vinegar

into the

water, then put liquid into crumbs. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface;

knead gently a

few times. Divide dough into 12 balls. Roll each ball into a 4 1/2 inch round.

(Thin) Using

a turner, transfer the rounds to ungreased baking sheets, spaced 1 inch apart.

Brush the

rounds with the melted butter, then sprinkle with sesame seeds. Firmly press the

seeds

into the rounds with the turner. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes, or until

lightly browned.

Using turner, remove to cooling rack. Cool thoroughly before storing in a

tightly covered

container.

Yup, that's right. Wierd because I typed it using an Arial font but in Word,

soooo I suspect there was a bit of heartburn between 's RTE and Microsoft

Word. Ah technology! Thanks, Jeanne in Georgia
