Guest guest
Has anyone here ever had the ramen type soups. I am in need of a mild broth soups with noodles. I just don't know where to begin. I have been using Thai kitchen but they seem to have stopped carrying the low sodium where I am and I have to restrict my sodium due to my endometriosis. Thanks for any help!! ~Mel " Sweet songs the youth, the wise; the meaning of all wisdom...to believe in the good in man " --Legend
Guest guest
I wonder if you are talking about the Top Ramen little square packaged dried soup. It sells around my area for 10 packets for $1.00 it's even in drug stores, I see it everywhere, and I sure don't like it. Once in a great while I will make a cabbage salad and crunch up a pack of the noodles, toss out the flavor MSG packet and make my own dressing. Top Ramen reminds me of Cup of soup Donna --- Melissa Hill <assilembob wrote: > Has anyone here ever had the ramen type soups. I am > in > need of a mild broth soups with noodles. Guest guest
Similar, but I use the more expensive Thai Kitchen ones that are MSG free...but they still have about 1000 mg. of sodium in the broth. I just need ideas for soup broths that are mild for my increasing nausea, but with low sodium. We are going to Austin today so I can get about anything... --- Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > I wonder if you are talking about the Top Ramen > little > square packaged dried soup. Guest guest
Mel, Make your own Ramen Soup ..Buy a pkg. of Chinese ramen type noodles, and use organic vegetetarian bouillon which is MSG free and chemical free. My favorite is the brand 'Organic Gourmet' but I have tried mock chicken/beef powders and they are very good. Try making your own broth with an assortment of fresh vegetables, including onions and garlic . Make enough to freeze to thaw later and then add your noodles for a quick soup, salt free. IF you use garlic, onion powder, spices and herbs you will not miss the salt. Low sodium soy sauce also makes a nice flavoring for noodles. Guest guest
Where would you get the bouillon? (like where IN the store) I only ever seem to find beef and chicken bouillon. What about the Imagine broths? Would those be good? Would you continue to season them? haha...that was a lot of questions. --- genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: > Mel, > Make your own Ramen Soup ..Buy a pkg. of Chinese > ramen type > noodles, and use organic vegetetarian bouillon which > is MSG free and > chemical free. Guest guest
-Mel, My local supermarket carries a vegetarian bouillon, both in the soup aisle and the 'natural foods' aisle. Your best bet would be to go to your local health food market because they have several different brands and types. Guest guest
Amazon has it, and hey, I never tried the mushroom base one, it looks good. I will have to make sure it is vegetarian, I know for a fact the vegetable one is. http://www.amazon.com/s.html/103-1501541-3828628?ie=UTF8 & node=3580501 & field-keyw\ ords=better%20than%20bouillon hugs, Chanda - genny_y2k Monday, July 31, 2006 4:31 PM Re: Noodle soups? -Mel, My local supermarket carries a vegetarian bouillon, both in the soup aisle and the 'natural foods' aisle.
