My daughter was begging me to buy oodles of noodles the other day.

ever look at the pack of oodles of noodles and read the ingredients?

to think I fed my boys that stuff when they were little, not realizing how

terrible it was, I also fed them kool-aid, I know, I should have been arrested!!

LOL

anyway, I made homemade with better than bullion and water, and some tamari

sauce. I used about a tablespoon of better than bouillon and 2 cups of water,

about a tablespoon of the tamari sauce, and I bought those curly noodles at the

Asian market.

the better than bullion is so much healthier than the ingredients in the oodles

of noodles packet. It is salty though, but then again so is the oodles of

noodles, LOL.

It passed the kids test, on my 18 year old and on my 9 year old, and the 18 year

old grew up with oodles of noodles.

oh yeah, and I put some scallions on top :o)

hugs,

Chanda

-Chanda,

My kids used to do this 30 years ago when Hamburger Helper and Rice a

Roni was popular. The kids would see the ads or eat a particular food

at a friend's and ask me to buy it. I took some work but I would copy

the ingredients as close as I could and the kids never knew the

difference. I refused to pay for a product that would often cost many

times over what it would cost me to make the same thing. And my

recipe had no chemicals or unhealthy additivies. Did they all grow up

to have great eating habits..Nope! But they do a little better than

the average. You can't do anything about the past so give yourself

the credit for what you are doing now. A pat on the back for you for

being aware and doing something about it. PS I gave my little ones

Jello before I knew what it really was.

Smiles and hugs

funny, now I watch a little girl, and her mom sends her with koool aid jammers,

bologna sandwiches, and drink with aspartame..... even my non veggie
