Guest guest
Great salad, Judy. How come you soak your Vidalia in lemon? Guest guest
Thanks. I do it because I found it takes any hot away that the onion may have and leaves less of an after taste. It makes it taste milder so it doesn't overpower a salad. You can use vinegar too, but I prefer lemon juice. Just put a small amount in a bowl with your chopped or sliced onions for a minute or so and then add to what ever you are putting it in. I do it this way for potato salad and coleslaw. I did if for the onions that I put in the Black Bean and Corn Salad tonight. Judy - Sue Tuesday, August 01, 2006 9:00 PM Re: re: What's in your salad? Great salad, Judy. Guest guest
Interesting! I usually buy sweet onions, and I like any " bite " they may have. But, I will have to remember this hint. bk ---- wwjd 08/01/06 22:22:59 Re: re: What's in your salad? Thanks. Guest guest
I only buy sweet onions too. The others are to hot for my liking and hurt my stomach. Sweet ones don't especially if I do this first. I LOVE ONIONS! Judy - Sue Wednesday, August 02, 2006 1:36 PM Re: re: What's in your salad? Interesting!
