Guest guest
I posted as a newbie a couple weeks ago and am slowly getting started. I figure if I start slow and ease into it I'll be more successful long term. And my 11 yr old daughter is also very excited and enthusiastic after reading up on it as well. So we've started by buying a lot more fruits'n'veggies including some we'd never heard of before - and we're no longer having toast or cereal for breakfast. We don't have a juicer so I'm making the most of my blender and we're having fruit smoothies for breakfast. They still have soymilk in them but its better than what we were eating. I'm actually surprised that I'm not really hungry by lunchtime after just having a smoothie. We also have salad a lot more often as well. So I've read everything I can get my hands on in the library and collected some simple recipes to try. But my main success was actually acquiring a spiral slicer as recommended by another group member. Almost impossible to find one where I live! (an hour east of Toronto Canada). So I finally caved and bought one online from Ashton Green. Just arrived today and I can't wait to get home from work and play with it! Thanks for the advice! Guest guest
Hi, Where I am I can't find one either. Calgary, AB. So I will probably have to order one. Please tell me how you like yours. Thanks, Kathryn tala_lumina <clegere wrote: I posted as a newbie a couple weeks ago and am slowly getting started. I figure if I start slow and ease into it I'll be more successful long term. Guest guest
Hey Tala! glad it's coming together for you. I used to live in Pickering, and worked in Ajax. all the best, Bob
Guest guest
Nice to meet a fellow Canadian! I'm just a bit further east in Oshawa. Close enough to Toronto to be able to get some raw food supplies/equipment but far enough away that " most " people look at you like you have three heads if you tell them you're vegetarian - not even going to attempt to explain vegan or raw foodist! LOL Tala rawfood , " Bob Farrell " <rjf2@t...> wrote: > Hey Tala! > > glad it's coming together for you. > > I used to live in Pickering, and worked in Ajax. > > all the best, > > Bob
Guest guest
Actually, a southoftheborderer....(as in the kind, gentle neighbor to the south of you...lol!) and doesn't/didn't Oshawa have a big auto plant? Ford? best, Bob rawfood , " tala_lumina " <clegere@h...> wrote: > Nice to meet a fellow Canadian! Guest guest
Well I hope you enjoyed Canada while you were here. Yes - Oshawa is a GM town. Were you into raw food eating while you were here? Did you have any good sources of organic fruits and veggies? I was quite surprised not to find any at my local farmers market. The grocery stores carry them from down south but I'd love to find some locally grown organics. Guest guest
I used mine yesterday and I like it. The one from Ashton Green has three blades so you can do slices, big " noodles " and small " noodles " . It seems pretty sturday and cleans up easily. I think I would've preferred a Saladacco if I'd been able to find one but this one does the job just fine. Good luck finding yours!
