Guest guest
My recent communication with Laurie Masters brought forth some interesting information concerning flax seed. I cannot download the information because the notes are Laurie's private information. However I can share with you information that I think others might like to know. Flax contains a harmful composition that can cause muscle spasms in the intestine. This would explain why prior to the 80/10/10 diet and healing through fasting; a condition of Colitis was EXACERBATED by the use of flax, including the EJUVA CLEANSE which damaged my system immeasurably. What's more, flax-fibre coats the intestinal lining inhibiting the absorption of nutrients from other foods. The fibres aggravate the villi of the intestine and cause toxicity in the blood. I have personally experienced nausea, intestinal cramping and severe headaches taking flax. I also experienced these symptoms whilst consuming strong " cleansing " herbs and spices. Ground flax seed is highly susceptible to rancidity via oxidation of the fats present. Ground flax does not keep well for longer than one day. High fat foods such as nuts and seeds deplete the body by impairing sugar uptake from fruit. I have experienced severe headaches, CHRONIC FATIGUE, blood sugar fluctuations and energy crashes (NOT consuming nuts or cooked foods at that time. Since I embarked on the 80/10/10 diet symptoms of colitis have been reduced by 85% I believe that this will be 100% All of my other symptoms have gone completely. The only symptom I have experienced recently is environmental pollution.

Guest guest
Kay, How much flax seed are we talking about here? I eat about two tablespoons every morning (one each of brown and golden) that I grind fresh immediately before using, and I've never had any of the symptoms you described. I take the flax because of the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. I thought these nutrients were essential to good health, no? My daily diet consists of a variety of fresh fruits including avocado, and a large salad of tender greens (romaine, arugula, mesclun, and mache), with sprouted sesame seeds; plus carrots and celery and a few green olives - none of which contain the omega fats, I don't think. Walnuts do but I don't particularly like raw nuts so rarely eat them. Also, you said " the only symptom I have experienced recently is environmental pollution. " What do you mean? What kind of symptom? Jan On Sep 26, 2005, at 7:33 AM, korangeli wrote: > > My recent communication with Laurie Masters brought forth some > interesting information concerning flax seed. Guest guest
Ground flax is fine, in my experience if ground and used immediately. Also works well if soaked. Good for use 6-12 months then.... HEMP SEED is a great alternative to Flax - containing a more long-term balance of both the EFAs and more long-chain fatty acids. You write: High fat foods such as nuts and seeds deplete the body by impairing sugar uptake from fruit. This is a benefit of eating fats with sugars - they slow down the sugar uptake, therefore preventing sugar crashes. These fatty foods are, in my opinion *crucial* in keeping to a raw food diet without crashing. They also make for excellent skin Paul Benhaim www.alivefoods.com www.notthecookingshow.com Flax contains a harmful composition that can cause muscle spasms in the intestine.
