Guest guest
Has anyone experienced dizziness on the raw diet? I am in the detox mode since I am still new. (under 3 months) Is this common, or a sign of vitamin or mineral deficiancy? Curious. Valerie
Guest guest
Yes I am getting dizziness. I am still not sure why. My two theories are: 1. I exercise yoga, run, bike and I sweat profusely. I can feel the water getting in my ears. 2. When I go off from 100% to 90% what I usually eat is cheese. When you don't have any dairy for a long time then you have a lot it is very detrimental to the sinus head area. I feel like my ears are clogged up after I eat cheese. After 3 episodes I saw this pattern. I had one episode where I felt so dizzy I could not even get out of bed and had to stay home from work. It finally went away late in the morning. This last time a few weeks ago, and when I had had a lot of cheese, I got dizzy and nauseus. I have not had cheese in a few weeks and have felt fine head clear, no dizziness, ears feel fine. I feel my body was telling me to knock it off and stay off the cheese. My goal is to stay 100% because I feel great, but emotions sometimes get in the way, but I am learning slowly but surely. Of the two theories I think the dairy is what it is. A long time raw foodist Dr. Beci, once said it is more detrimental to the body to go back and forth raw, cooked, raw, sad. And this is what he may mean. As far as getting all nutrients, I'm absolutely 100% confident I am getting everything I need. I eat plenty of fruit, fruit, fruit and vegs. few nuts and seeds. Guest guest
Sign of Mineral Deficiancy. You are probably very acidic and need to alkalize your body....have you done a PH test? Your body uses organic minerals in all body processes, when you're detoxing or cleansing, you need 10 times more organic minerals to be comfortable. OK, I pulled that number out of the air, but it was to illustrate neccesity! No matter, here's how to correct it: ~ drink lots of green juice (at least a quart a day), ~ take alph-alpha supplements, ~ make a mineral broth (see recipe below) ~ For a REALLY fast fix and upkeep, take Liquid Minerals from Arise & Shine (click on the Arise & Shine image to order - http://www.sunlightunlimited.com/wst_page9.html) Warning, this doesn't taste good, but it really works! ~ Take Dr. Shulze's SUPERFOOD (http://www.herbdoc.com/p14.asp) Mineral Broth - Fill pan with 3 quarts of water. Chop 3 - 4 whole, unpeeled potatoes, 3 - 4 stalks of celery, and a large handful greens. Simmer with for 20 minutes to 2 hours, strain the liquid and compost the vegetables. Feel free to add other vegetables/herbs/seasonings - like if you were making a soup base. Add onions, garlic, celtic sea salt, carrots, rosemary, basil, orgegano, etc! Guest guest
Paula and others, if our body is exhibiting any sign of healing/discomfort, it needs rest, not all kinds of concoctions. Pure distilled water, and rest. The body knows what to do then. best, Bob rawfood , Paula Wood <wolfmother1> wrote: > > Sign of Mineral Deficiancy. Guest guest
Well, that is your opinion. In my opinion, I do not believe in suffering with discomfort. In this day and age, most of us don't have the luxury of 'resting'. I am a single mom of an 11 year old boy. I am the sole breadwinner, getting no support whatsoever. I am 31 years old. I also have cancer. If I stop and rest my world falls apart. If I rest don't have food that I think is yummy and gratifying to eat. If I rest I don't get my fresh fruit and vegetables. If I rest, the dishes pile up, the laundry doesn't get done, and I live in a pigstye. Dizzyness or lightheadedness is a cleansing reaction. Per Dr. Richard Anderson and Dr. Shulze, this can be easily corrected by adding minerals to the diet. Again, why suffer? At 28 years of age, my body was so broken down that I had cancer. My body did not have enough mineral stores to deal with all the toxins I was putting in it on a daily basis. It's taken me almost two years to build those stores back up. And, there are times that I feel deficient in minerals. I can feel my body getting a little on the acidic side if I am eating too much fruit or nuts and not enough greens, so I juice and take extra supplements. When I am cleansing I have to up my mineral intake to stay comfortable and support my body. If I had 'rested' I do not believe that I would be alive today. So many people I see come to eat raw foods because their body is broken, some even on the freeway to death at 200MPH. People in that situation don't have time to rest. Again, in my opinion. I think if you're only eating fruits and vegs, you might not be getting enough nutrients, or, more likely, maybe you eat enough nutrients but not enough CALORIES. Are you taking any B-12? Are you getting enough protein? I know a woman who ate like this for 10 years... mostly just fresh fruits and veggies, very low protein, she was so weak she could hardly stand up, and when she tried to go back on protein, her kidneys shut down (they could no longer process any protein). Guest guest
I am getting plenty of nutrients I run, bike do yoga take care of a yard and house I have plenty of energy. I take absolutely no supplements. The dizziness I experienced was not a light headed dizziness from not enough food it was a vertigo dizziness with my ears feeling clogged. Like I wrote as soon as I quit eating the cheese (which was hard to for me to let go of) the dizziness disappeared and my ears feel clear as a bell.
