Guest guest
Is it just better to buy a Vita-Mix Blender, or buy a Fantastic Juicer?? My friend told me she bought a cheap juicer, and said the blades have to be sharpened a lot.

Guest guest
i would get a k-tec blender - i just ordered one of those to replace an old cuisinart (it's been doing an excellent job for years now, but it's time to upgrade). i use my blender a lot, i make a lot of green smoothies, soups, etc. ( fruit, lettuce, nuts, etc.) i found this comparison of the vitamix, k-tec and others: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/compareblenders.html (i picked the k-tec because it has the most HP, best warranty, and between vita-mix and the k-tec it's the shorter in size, which plays a role for me. you can find lots of reviews on www.epinions.com as well.) good luck! i'm sure either vita-mix or k-tec will be a good choice for a blender thou! -birte <http://www.caninegenius.com/> www.caninegenius.com smart toys for your dog Pet Product News " Editor's Choice Awards " winner 2005/2006 rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Tiffany Bair Thursday, January 05, 2006 13:05 rawfood [Raw Food] What's the best Juicer you can buy?? Lane I agree with Lane. One should keep in mind, though, that comparing juicers to a Vitamix is kinda like comparing apples to oranges -- or, rather, pressed and filtered apple juice to whole, pulpy orange juice with all the fiber and phytonutrients contained in that white layer between the outer peel and the " fruit " of the orange included. They're both good products, but once you get used to the richness of a Vitamix juice, it's tough (at least I've found) to choose a juice with all that good stuff removed (as happens with a traditional juice *extractor*). I do use both, but the ratio of the use my Vitamix gets compared to my Breville Juice Fountain (extractor) is greater than 10 to 1. And, yeah, you never have to sharpen the blades of a Vitamix (they aren't sharp to begin with), and yes also to keeping an eye on a product's wattage. Don't waste your money on a product that can't get the job done. (Some will, some won't; and low-wattage blenders won't.) Audie

Guest guest
Here is a link to the vita-mix store. THis is for a reconditioned 5000 for $299. THese are usually returns or demos with nothing wrong with them. They have the same warranty and come with the same things as a brand new one but at less cost. I just ordered one for that orice. http://www.vitamix.com/household/store/showprod.cfm? & DID=7 & CATID=15 & ObjectGroup_\ ID=42 Have a great day, Heather - bill asenjo rawfood Thursday, January 05, 2006 11:57 PM Re: [Raw Food] What's the best Juicer you can buy?? Guest guest
Just so you know, the Vita-Mix and the K-tec are blenders, not juicers. Good juicers are champion and Green-Star. kristi On Jan 5, 2006, at 11:57 PM, bill asenjo wrote: > Where's the best place to buy a Vitamix? Ebay? Guest guest
You can get a reconstituted one from Vita Mix. That's what I did. It's been great! Guest guest
Hello, On the juicers, it depends on what you want. I have a Vita Mix, Omega 8005, and a Champion. The Vita Mix is great for smoothies and blending sort of like a food processor, you can also make pate's is just give it a different texture. It does a lot more and the clean up is easy. I bought the dough blender with mine to make and kneel bread. You can get a new one on a discount at http://www.evergreentrade.com/ @ 800.422.7980 ask for Terri and just tell them Allison Crain referred you and just find out how much of a discount you can get. The shipping is free and it is free to check... The Omega is great for green juicing, I use it 2 times a day for green juicing, you can juice wheat grass, it's a fruit juice extractor, vegetable juice extractor, food processor, pasta extruder and homogenizer. They run about $200.00. It is easy clean up. The champion is like the Omega but does not do pasta and it is heavy, bulky, messy and harder to clean. This is the first one I bought about 5 years ago, I hardly ever use it. If you have any other questions, just let me know. Lane Martin <lanie wrote: You can get a reconstituted one from Vita Mix. Guest guest
And if I'm not mistaken, even on the reconditioned ones, you get a new pitcher -- only the base/motor has been used (in a demo or something). rawfood , " Heather " <nrcysus69@c...> wrote: > > Here is a link to the vita-mix store.
