Guest guest
First...congratulations on your loss so far. Second...where do we find out more info about your raw food boot camp?? I have been eating raw for only a week now and have so many questions. Does anyone know where I can find a really good list of foods I can enjoy so I cqan mke up some meals? I am not a fish eater, so this really limits the types of " dishes " I can make so far. I know there are lots of great options out there, just wondering where to start. I already have Carol Alts new book--( I enjoyed it)--my mom has two more books coming to me in the mail (they were on back order)--so I am waiting for them, I just dont remember which ones she bought me.... But I was hoping more for a web site or a few good web sites that offer good directions and recipes or meal ideas. I am also wondering what is up with tofu?? Is this raw?? I have never had tofu (that I know of..LOL) so I dont know much about it... I have been looking at one web site after another, but I suffer from graves disease also (the main reason for my raw foods switch) and sometimes I cant concentrate too well on what I am looking for and thought maybe some nice kind person out there could help...LOL!!! I live in las vegas and there are not a lot of raw food markets or shops that I have found so far, so other than fruits and vegies, shopping has been a challenge? ANY TIPS??? I know this is long, I just have felt so amzing this last week on almost 100% raw that I want to keep going and I need all the help I can get! Guest guest
The tofu question came up earlier today - no it isn't raw - sorry. As for a quick list of raw stuff to eat: fruits, veggies, (raw)seeds, (raw) nuts, and sprouted things: alfalfa, beans, grains, seeds...lots of stuff to eat out there:-) I made some sprouting jars from quart-sized mason jars and cut lid screens from plastic canvas to allow ventilation/drainage. One dozen jars cost me only $13 to make. I haven't had a lot of time for sprouting lately, but plan to get into it full on when my internship is complete two weeks from now:-) I did sprout some garbanzo beans (from dried beans) and made a wonderful batch of hummus from it:-) One of my favorite meals ideas is zucchini spaghetti with bruschetta sauce. I bought a julienne peeler ($7 at Linens-N-Things) to make the spaghetti with, and I make a fresh bruschetta with tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, sundried tomatoes, & s & p to use for my sauce...it's lovely! Guest guest
Hi Sherry www.rawfoodbootcamp.com and www.ibeatobesity.com are the 2 websites tofu is not raw. The soybeans are cooked, mashed, then make to clump like cheese. cooked. do a google search on raw food recipes, you should get some good sites. Although, many of the recipes are high fat. Simple raw is best. I get some really nice veggies at an oriental market here. And an Italian market. I also sprout a lot of seeds. Sprouts are about 25-30% protein, and very few calories. lots of nutrition there. jan Sherry <dobeythehouseelf wrote: First...congratulations on your loss so far. Guest guest
Dear Sherry I remember there were a couple of raw foods restaurants in Las Vegas. I found them on the internet when I was planning a trip for a Scrabble tournament there. Good luck, Lane - Sherry rawfood Monday, February 06, 2006 12:47 PM [Raw Food] Re: [Raw ~ Hello!
