I personally keep those two mixed together with no issues. I mix a week or two worth in a squirt bottle. Got a recipe out of Botenko's book. (A) Equal amounts of cider vinegar and olive oil and a shot of nama-shoyu. I have had great results from using " Black Raspberry " vinegar and also " Appel Cider " vinegar. I don't mention that much for the " vinegar " police come out and chastise one for using vinegar. Oh well, that's my story and I stick by it If I were to actually break down the percentages, the one I use is: 45% (apple/raspberry) vinegar. 45% top grade olive oil 10% nama-shoyu -- Bill Schoolcraft | Life's journey is not to arrive at the PO Box 210076 | grave safely in a well preserved body, San Francisco,CA 94121 | but rather to skid in sideways, totally http://wiliweld.com | spent, yelling " holy shit, what a ride! Guest guest
I am new to this lifestyle, so if this doesnt follow a rule I am not aware of, please forgive me. Here are two of my favorites: 1) I dice onions and mix it with chopped cilantro and then splash it with lemon juice and lime juice. My lil girls have even given up ranch on their salads. 2) A creamy dressing: 1 T Raw Tahini 1 T Ray Cashew Butter 1 T olive oil 2 T water 2 garlic cloves 1 T Braggs I mix the above in my food processor. It is a little spicy from the garlic, but I love the kick. Hope this helps. Tracie Sherry <dobeythehouseelf wrote: Any good salad dressing recipies you consider your favorites?? Guest guest
I like tahini mixed with grape juice. I just whiz the grapes in the blender with a bit of water and add the glunk to the tahini, until I have the consistency/taste I like. It lasts several days. Good luck. Guest guest
To keep the vinegar police at bay, remember that fresh is always best. Even before I knew of the raw food lifestyle, I've been making my own salad dressing. You may want to experiment with the quantities of the below ingredients, but no matter how much you put in of whichever, it's always yummy: - the most premium olive oil you can find, either raw or just organic (is organic cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil considered raw???) - freshly squeezed lemon juice - any spicy raw herb (I just use crushed red pepper) - sometimes I grate fresh ginger root, too - sometimes I add namashoyu Other times for a change I substitute olive oil with raw organic extra virgin coconut oil and fresh lime juice instead of lemon. -Tiffany Sherry <dobeythehouseelf wrote: Any good salad dressing recipies you consider your favorites??
