Guest guest
well i'm still raw today, wish me well. going through a lot of detox, especially mentally but also some physically. there always seems to be a cooked item that gets lodged in my brain as that which i MUST eat. i saw a box in a store a week ago that said " dark " chocolate cocoa mix made by the same maker from whom i've had the " milk chocolate " cocoa mix. and my mind can't stop obsessing on what the " dark " chocolate mix would taste like. oh well, i'll have to let it go. i'm feeling too good with about ten days raw to go back to cooked again. i'll just have to go through my withdrawals. when you look at the ingredients in those kinds of things, it's absolutely crazy the milk solids and the corn syrup sweeteners, etc. it's just another wacky product that's not for me. and there's a million of them. one thing i know for sure, if i ate that, then i'd just see another item that would lodge an uncontrollable obsession in my mind. one of these days i have to overcome this by just not eating it, and hopefully, this is the one. i've been going through this for probably fifteen years, never really willing to go through the mental/physical withdrawal necessary. Guest guest
hi froggy- i understand and sympathize with the chocolate obsession. have you tried raw cacao nibs? the cacao bean is what chococlate is made from and is quite good, though not sweet. did you know cacao is extremely rich in magnesium, something most people are deficient in? i recently got a recipe for " cacao powerballs " , which i haven't tried yet, but plan to soon. i'm not at home now and don't have the recipe with me. i'll post it to the list later. also, was wondering if you've tried the raw food restaurant/store " arnold's way " in lansdale (you mentioned in one post that you were in eastern pa, near valley forge, i think)? i am in lancaster county, lititz to be exact. are they any other raw foodists out there from eastern/southcentral pa? maybe we can form a support group! cheer, carol

Guest guest
I am a newbie here and have not had a chance to introduce myself. The information you guys have shared has been great. I did want to chime in here and say that the Cacao Nibs are great. My DH always keeps a bag at work. If you haven't tried them you should. dj7510 wrote: what you need to get is RAW CHOCOLATE in the form of CACAO Nibs, a true SUPERFOOD ! Guest guest
i might as well accept the fact that i'm only happy with a produce diet. i've been fighting it for a decade but it always comes back to the same thing. i may as well just get used to eating this way and adjust to it for good, for the rest of my life. rawfood , dj7510 wrote: > > what you need to get is RAW CHOCOLATE in the form of CACAO Nibs, a > true SUPERFOOD ! Guest guest
i try to just eat whatever produce item is handy and i don't think my mind is ever going to change on this so i'm best to just get used to it. sure i went to a few arnold's events/lectures a couple years ago. i haven't been driving for a long time so i haven't been up there but maybe later this year i can check into it again. i'm not much into what's offered in food. i don't know of any other raw foodists in the area, although i remember a few years ago going to a raw food potluck in or near lancaster. i don't know if they still meet or how to find out about them. but sure, as time goes by here, maybe there would be a way to get a support group going. that would be enjoyable, but i don't know if anyone has the energy to really make it a goal for themselves. rawfood , no-thing wrote: > > hi froggy- i understand and sympathize with the chocolate obsession. have > you tried raw cacao nibs? the cacao bean is what chococlate is made from > and is quite good, though not sweet. did you know cacao is extremely rich > in magnesium, something most people are deficient in? i recently got a > recipe for " cacao powerballs " , which i haven't tried yet, but plan to > soon. i'm not at home now and don't have the recipe with me. i'll post it > to the list later. > > also, was wondering if you've tried the raw food restaurant/store > " arnold's way " in lansdale (you mentioned in one post that you were in > eastern pa, near valley forge, i think)? i am in lancaster county, lititz > to be exact. are they any other raw foodists out there from > eastern/southcentral pa? maybe we can form a support group! > > cheer, > > carol
