Guest guest
i just want my vision to heal, i believe that can happen if i stay raw and as well spiritually/holistically as i know how. of course my blue eyes brighten a little, get a little lighter when i'm raw, and my whole persona just comes across so much better. it's like what " a course in miracles " talks about, about being connected to spirit. the important thing to me though would be to get rid of these glasses, that would be a much more real miracle to me than changing my eye color. rawfood , " Thompson, Debra " <Debrathompson wrote: > > I have a friend who's Aunt had blue eye when she was young, and they > turned dark brown as she got older. Guest guest
That's pretty interesting. I have one brown eye and one green eye. I wonder what changes might occur with my eye color? I doubt anything would change my very poor vision (I'm functionally blind in my left eye, and half as bad in my right eye). Guest guest
A friend of mine who is almost 100% raw told me recently that her stigmatism has gotten better since changing her diet. Because of her testimony on being vegan I was convinced that this was the way to go but after her telling me about this I had no doubts. I recently had to get stronger glasses. I would be so excited if I had to go back to the eye dr to get weaker glasses. heehee!!! Guest guest
Hi Beth & Froggy I think both of you would benefit from Vitamin A, Beta-Caratene. It is not a myth that carrots are good for the eyesight. And the best way to get mega doses would be through juicing. So I would recommend that you drink at least 32 oz. of fresh carrot juice a day. And if you've never had it, raw carrot juice is sweet and tasty! Add a couple of beets an apple and a sprig of ginger and you'll be hooked for life! Also, some sight problems actually come from weakened muscles behind the eyeball. A good exercise is to move your eyes around in different directions a couple of times a day. The same way that you would exercise your body. Keep your head still, look to the left, the center, right, then center, up then center, down, then center, upper right, then center, upper left, then center, lower right then center, lower left, then center. I think you get it. Do this a few times a day, and remember to hold each position for 3-5 seconds. This exercises the muscles that pull your eyeball in each direction, because our eyeballs do not just rotate around within the orbits. They are pulled by muscles. And hopefully it will create strength in the muscles that might not be functioning at peak performance. Also Froggy, I think that it is very possible to build your body while on the raw foods diet...look at Storm from thegardendiet.com. And it would be better to start your routine as a raw foodist now, rather than becoming raw later and having to lose and then work your way back up. If you are not raw now, you can afford to lose the toxins that are stored up in the fat that you are holding on to, whether it's 4% or 15% or whatever. Lose those toxins, start with a renewed, detoxified, and raw body, and you will have no doubts that your program is healthy for inside and out. Remember that muscles don't mean health. It's better to look healthy on the outside because you are so so healthy on the inside. Besides, girls love it when a guy is physically fit, but pays just as much attention to what foods go into his body. I personally see nothing sexy about a big guy who then guzzles burgers, beer, raw eggs, or 3 chicken breasts per sitting! *smile* Oh, and a good way to maintain weight on a raw diet is with avocados, which contain mega amounts of healthy fats! And if you lose weight first, then you'll be even sexier because as you work out, your muscles will be that much more obvious! Think Brad Pitt in Thelma & Louise. That dude couldn't have been more than 120 pounds in that movie, but all 120 of him was muscle! The ladies know what I mean. *wink* S~~ rawfood , elizabeth roberts <mamabethnc wrote: > > That's pretty interesting. I have one brown eye and one green eye. Guest guest
so if I want to lose weight for now, should I back off the avacado? I love avacado and was thrilled when I went raw and could add it back into my diet. But if its holding me back from losing weight then I wont use it for awhile. Any words? Also, anyone have a good way to make corn chips? I loved chips and salsa and have discovered a great raw salsa to make, and would love to be able to apeaze my chips and salsa addiction with a raw version. You have all been so wonderful already. thank you all for your tips on sprouting. I was letting them soak too long. I threw all my " projects " out and started over. I have already seen little tails on my chickpeas and my almonds look like they are getting ready to burst anytime now. YEAH!!!!! (Thanks again for your help) I know there is a whole recipe section I can go browse through. But I was hoping maybe a few of you could share your FAVORITE raw recipes. I am looking for more options for dinner, I dont want to just have salad every night. I am not a big fan of squash either ( I hope to adapt in time) so what can I make? Any suggestions? Thanks again! ******** Oh, and a good way to maintain weight on a raw diet is with avocados, which contain mega amounts of healthy fats! Autos. Looking for a sweet ride? Guest guest
if you are nearsighted a keratotomy can cure the condition. i went from 20/200 to20/20. Guest guest
No, I would not say to stop eating avocados because they are a good source of essential fatty acids. If you are eating alot of them, then maybe cut back a little. Also, I wouldn't suggest corn chips since corn is a grain and basically unnecessary sugars with almost no nutritional value. All of us should research the effects that grains have on our bodies. I have been a rice lover forever, and now refuse to ingest the stuff. You can find many flax cracker recipes online. I would suggest those for your salsa. I'll try to get you one. Be right back. Be well! Guest guest
To speak of flax cracker, do we must use dehydrator to make it? Is there any other way? Thank you very much. --- " Sajaa B. Guest guest
hi sajaa, if i could " see " spiritually, live better spiritually i mean, i believe my eyes would then be able to see. i saw a guy in a play yesterday take off his shirt, actually about five of them did, but he was the only one with a rippled, muscular showing body. it does make a difference as far as how a body is viewed. but for me, i'll never be an exerciser, it'll just never be my thing. i definitely rely on avocados, i have to have at least two each day. they're the only thing i eat that feels like there's any substance to them, a little fat, heaviness, smoothy texture that none of the other produce have. rawfood , " Sajaa B. Guest guest
i have astigmatism too, it would be even more of a miracle if my vision could heal some. my glasses are very strong, not horribly strong but pretty strong. they look okay because i get the extra thin lenses. i'm not sure how i could get weaker glasses if i'm wearing what i have all the time though, it would seem strange for that to happen. but maybe, anything's possible. www.rawfoodeaters rawfood , Laura Cunningham <laura_jc wrote: > > A friend of mine who is almost 100% raw told me recently that her stigmatism has gotten better since changing her diet. Guest guest
Hi Froggy- Check out the book, " Take Off Your Glasses and See " by Jacob Liberman. He talks about the relation between what we are willing to " see " emotionally/spiritually and can actually physically see. He also gives instructions for a process to help you actually improve your eyesight. I read the book last summer and just reading it brought up alot of emotion for me - I found myself just bursting into tears from time to time while reading. I haven't done the exercises because I just don't have the time. Working full-time interferes with alot of things, IMO - LOL! Anyway, you might find the book interesting. Cheers~ Carol
Guest guest
My mistake Froggy. I thought you said that you didn't want to go raw right now because you wanted to start working out and that would make it much harder. rawfood , " Froggy " <seconaphim wrote: > > hi sajaa, > > if i could " see " spiritually, live better spiritually i mean, i > believe my eyes would then be able to see. i saw a guy in a play > yesterday take off his shirt, actually about five of them did, but he > was the only one with a rippled, muscular showing body. it does make > a difference as far as how a body is viewed. but for me, i'll never > be an exerciser, it'll just never be my thing. > > i definitely rely on avocados, i have to have at least two each day. > they're the only thing i eat that feels like there's any substance to > them, a little fat, heaviness, smoothy texture that none of the other > produce have. > > rawfood , " Sajaa B.
