Guest guest
Thats me. I yo-yo between raw and Atkins. Complete opposites. I really need to stick to one and let that be that. Atkins isn't good for me and I don't like killing animals to get food. But I have trouble finding raw recipes that taste good and I am not eating enough and am hungry. Do you have any solutions for this? I have some recipe books and I look online. I need a variety--so I am not eating the same thing daily. I am up to any solutions. I went raw for 2 years with great sucess, including resolving so long time health Issues .try this ! bananas avacodos leafy greens nuts and nut butters along juicing and nut milks .nutritional density and quality is more important than quanity . try to keep your caloric intake at or above the minimun requirement for your height and weight or the weight you hope to achive. Guest guest
Have you tried just doing it the simple way? Smoothies, salads, whole fruits and veggies, sprouts? I don't do much food prep myself and am finding that most of the nut laden recipies are just way to rich for me. I generally have a smoothie for breakfast, an avacado smushed up with a spice or two and some flax crackers for lunch, or a big salad. Then dinner the most complicated thing I have had is rawvioli (gtelevision's website) but I generally stick to salads, perhaps a wrap filled with raw hummus and sprouts... simple stuff. Makes life so much easier! Guest guest
Hello. I like the advice the others have given so far. I really feel that I am too new to this to give good advice (still struggling to get 100% raw) but I had to comment in regard to your Yo-Yo/ Raw vs. Adkins dilemma. As you no doubt realize, Adkins is one of the worst eating styles one can adopt. Someone on this list recommended the book, " The China Study " . (Whoever recommended this, thank you it's excellent!) If you haven't read this please do! Another person on this list commented if you can't do raw, at least do vegan. When I am having trouble sticking to raw, I use this philosophy to guide my food choices. Maybe this would help you. When you want something more filling, some salsa, chips, and refried beans is a lot better idea than a cheeeseburger, right!? Or maybe even some raw vegetables over cooked brown rice. Just my 2 cents. Peace, Diana rawfood , " ronis19462000 " <bigsaver2 wrote: > > Thats me. I yo-yo between raw and Atkins. Complete opposites. I > really need to stick to one and let that be that. Guest guest
If I may tell you what I do most of the time: I juice a bunch of vegies in the morning, Kale, celery, carrots, parsley, beets, sometimes spinach, cabbage etc, that will carry me for about three hours, later in the morning I have some fruit, a banana, mango etc, at lunch time I have a big salad, dinner I have either a soup, or I made a large batch of cracker, and put what ever on it. If I am getting hungry late at night I might whip up a desert or eat some mix of nuts such as almonds, cashews and raisins.
