Guest guest
I have been raw for 3 weeks and my ph is still acidic. Aren't most foods on a raw diet alkaline and naturally balance out my acidic side? What else can I do? I can get in balance on just a raw diet, right? How long before I'm in balance? Thanks. :-) Minnie

Guest guest
Minnie, How do you test your pH? I'd like to see how acidic I am. minnie9090 <minnie9090 wrote: I have been raw for 3 weeks and my ph is still acidic. Guest guest
Hi Minnie, Congrats on your 3 weeks of raw! Raw living will definitely lead you to a more alkaline ph; however, some fruits and veggies are more alkaline than others. So you still have to pretty much stay on the alkaline side of raw foods as well. Especially if you are trying to combat an acidic ph as opposed to just maintaining the balance that you have established already. Because I do not know how to post attachments to this board, I will e-mail you the chart right after I finish this post. Also, are you checking your ph at the same time every day and with your first morning's urine only? That is very important. And lastly, acidic and unhealthy foods are much more potent than healthy and alkaline foods. So you really have to be diligent in staying on the straight and narrow when you are trying to correct some type of damage. For instance, if you drink one 12 oz can of soda, it takes about 30 glasses of water to rid the body of the phosphorus, the chemical in soda that leaches calcium from the body and causes weakened bones. Hope this helps! S~~ rawfood , " minnie9090 " <minnie9090 wrote: > > I have been raw for 3 weeks and my ph is still acidic. Guest guest
Hi Todd; The pharmacist/Drugstore sells PH paper rolls such as " PHydrion " that you can either use to test with urine or saliva. It should have a color chart to compare your color results against. I think that these things cost about $15. Then after that you can buy the refills at a little less money. They state that you should be in the 6.8 to 7.2 range. Personally I think you should be in the 7.1 to 7.2 range. You don't want too alkaline either. I did some more research on ph and alkaline food after reading your post. It seems that your post is not entirely true. I found a website that has a table of alkaline and acidic foods. While not complete there were only 6 fruits listed on the acid side and 22 fruits listed on the alkaline side. You might be surprised to learn " Note that a food's acid or alkaline-forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example, lemons are very acidic, however the end-products they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so lemons are alkaline-forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid-forming. " Hope this helps others as it helped me. And thanks for your post because it promted me to do more research! ;-) Also I found out my ph is not in as bad shape as I thought, a little food adjustment and I should be balanced soon. Guest guest
You are correct in that the raw food diet is alkalizing. And, that just by eating the diet, you should at some point reach an alkaline state. There is no set amount of time for a persons body to reach alkalinity. Even with all the cleansing I did during my first year of raw foods I still was acidic most of the time. Especially on those days my body was trying to purge extra toxins. To reach a state of alkalinity the body needs massive amounts of minerals - or at least that's the fastest way. Good sources are " Vitamineral Greens " from Healthforce Nutritionals (http://www.healthforce.com/vitamineral_green.htm). This is an excellent nutritional support and actually a meal replacement, it's so high in nutrients. I take a teaspoon of it in water and hunger goes away because my body gets so nourished. Some other good ones are " Power Up " , " Electrolife " , or " Liquid Minerals " by Arise and Shine (http://www.ariseandshine.com/shop/daily-use/page1.html). My clients have told me the Liquid Minerals taste absolutely horrible, but they get the job done! Electrolife is really strong and should probably be taken with meals if the package doesn't say to. Also adding fresh vegetable juices to your daily intake - especially green juice - is very alkalizing. Try Celery, Apple, Kale, Parsley, Lemon combo. I drink this combo every day. Also drinking Mineral Broth....I posted the recipe the other day in an email. I will post in a separate email with the title so it can be searched easily. You've spent however many years on this earth getting your body junked up and acidic, though the body is miraculous, it does take some time to recover. Cleansing and supplementation helps the process along more quickly. Paula minnie9090 <minnie9090 wrote: I have been raw for 3 weeks and my ph is still acidic.
