Hello All,

I do like salad. But, because i am still new to this

raw food, i have been searching recipes for salad, and

green/salad smoothie...I wonder if any of you have

great recipes about either salads or vegetable

smoothies?

thank you very much.

Hey Allison:-)

On the green smoothies, a good rule of thumb is 60% fruit to 40% greens.

My husband and I prefer using kale or spinach for our greens, and

usually include pineapple, pears, oranges, apples, and berries of some

sort in ours. Sometimes I'll throw in a lime for extra zing:-)

I tried using red leaf lettuce in a smoothie last week and it gave it a

rather odd, bitter flavor. I'll be saving my lettuce for salads! Like

you, I enjoy salads:-) I especially like pairing romaine with baby

spinach and red leaf, then adding green and black grapes, then tossing

in a fresh lemon vinaigrette:-) For the vinaigrette, I use equal parts

of a lightly flavored olive oil and fresh lemon juice, then season to

taste with sea salt and fresh herbs:-) Have fun with it!!!!
