Guest guest
The recipe looks interesting but I have never been able to find sun-dried organic prunes. If they're not sun-dried they're not raw, and if they're not organic, they have too many pesticides. Guest guest
It didn't occur to me to use sun-dried prunes. I just used fresh pitted prunes from the store. Why wouldn't they be raw? >vegwriter >rawfood >rawfood >Re: [Raw Food] Raw Ice Cream (2) >Wed, 22 Feb 2006 10:50:20 EST > > >The recipe looks interesting but I have never been able to find sun-dried >organic prunes. >If they're not sun-dried they're not raw, and if they're not organic, they >have too many pesticides. > >Judy > >In a message dated 2/22/2006 9:40:05 AM Eastern Standard Time, >jencorris writes: > >The recipes are here: > >http://www.living-foods.com/recipes/ (I realized I forgot to add the >hyphen in the address.) > >Oops, I just realized the ice cream recipe was from a different web site: > >http://www.fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/BananaNutIceCream.htm > >It was so easy and good! > > > >vegwriter > > rawfood > >rawfood > >Re: [Raw Food] Raw Ice Cream > >Wed, 22 Feb 2006 02:29:58 EST > > > > > >In a message dated 2/21/2006 10:03:43 PM Eastern Standard Time, > >jencorris writes: > > > >I just made the best banana nut ice cream, so quick and easy! Guest guest
Companies that sell dried fruits aren't knowledgeable about the benefits of raw foods, so they dry them at whatever temperatures they feel like, probably high to dry them fast and save time and make more profits. Sun-dried means at a temperature low enough to be considered raw. In a message dated 2/22/2006 11:28:19 AM Eastern Standard Time, jencorris writes: It didn't occur to me to use sun-dried prunes. I would really like to find a source of organic sun-dried prunes, too, though.
