Guest guest
I've had couple of abnormal pap smears. I had a biopsy on my cervix last week and today the doctor says it's not cancer or pre-cancer, but can turn into cancer or pre-cancer if I don't have a procedure called " Leep " under general anesthesia. (I looked up " Leep " and it didn't say anything about general anesthesia. It talked about a local anesthesia. I really wonder about this guy.) I asked him if better eating and cleansing could cure me and he said, " No. " Well, of course I don't want to do the operation/procedure. I believe in what I'm doing and want to heal myself. But I want to know if there are things I can do to heal myself faster, specifically for my problem? I guess I should do research on cancer and how people have cured themselves naturally and figure out the best food and things to do for my particular situation. Do you guys have any suggestion for the best thing to fight getting cancer? I have been on a raw food diet for 26 days. I have done numerous cleanses and am continuing to do more cleanses. I am starting to exercise and sungaze. Please reassure me that I'm doing the right thing people! (Okay I know I am but I still wanna hear it!) Oh and you naysayers can't talk me out of it, but the yeahsayers will make me feel better! My teenage daughter already thinks I'm crazy " for taking a chance of getting cancer. " But I don't see it like that. I see it as " avoiding an unnecessary surgery! " My pap smear history: 2001 I had my first abnormal pap smear but was diagnosed with pregnancy at the same time and couldn't do the test where a camera goes inside the cervix to see stuff. So they just looked on the outside of the cervix and said it looks like abnormal cells and they could test further after I recovered from having a baby. 2002 I think I was told they were abnormal cells and just to keep getting checked every year that's it no big deal. 2003 I don't remember if I even had one or not. 2004 my pap smear was normal! 2005 abnormal and it took me months around to getting a colposcopy and I didn't even know I that included a biopsy until later. So this is the second time I have had abnormal cells so why is this (a different) doctor so gung ho on me having this procedure, I wonder? Are my cells that much worse? Or does he just push this procedure for any abnormality? My guess is the latter. Any further information on this stuff would greatly be appreciated. Guest guest
I dont know about any of that...but have you considered a second opinion? There is more than one doctor in the world and they all have different beliefs and favorite procedures, so see another doctor or two if you want peace of mind. Its your body, and the choice is always yours, but at least see a different doctor and see what he/she has to say! minnie9090 <minnie9090 wrote: I've had couple of abnormal pap smears. Guest guest
I am sure lots of things can affect the results of a pap test. I once had an abnormal test, I ate horribly drank lots of caffiene and was on birth control. After I stopped all that I have had normal ones ever since. I would definately get a second and third opinion as surgery no matter what kind is major. Keep up the eating healthy and then have another test done. Remeber to to have a positive mind and to not have negative thoughts about this, that will on;y make things worse. Good luck and let us know how everything goes. Guest guest
I agree with Heather. Also, you do NOT have cancer yet, and with your healthy eating may never get it. My dad has had the pre- pre- cancer cell thing going on for many years now, it has never advanced any further. It is his prostate. He just goes for regular check ups eats well, and gets plenty of outdoor activity and excersise. Nothing special, just steady and daily. At 80 years old, he still push mows their one acre lot. Even though he has a riding mower, he won't use it. He says he needs the excersise. He also has a big garden that he tends and eats from. I also might suggest a couple of videos that I have. They are so inspirational. They are by Lorraine Day, M.D. Cancer Doesn't Scare Me Anymore! and You Can't Improve on God. If you are not familiar with her, she is a doctor and cured herself completely of cancer. She was literaly on her death bed. These tapes tell her story and how she accomplished it. Her cancer has been gone for many years now and is still a puzzle to all her doctors. I watch the tapes periodically to just keep my motivation going. She has other tapes as well that I am sure would be helpful, but these deal with cancer and mentions a few other ailments. So worth the money and time. Guest guest
Good morning, Minnie, I like that name. My grandmother's name was Minnie. I'm not going to try to advise you about having the LEEP. I had one back in '96 and it was done under local anesthesia and I was able to drive afterward. The only thing that I was cautioned not to do was lift anything heavy for a couple of weeks. Had I had a partner at home, there might have been some caution about sexual activity, I don't know. Anyway, I was gung-ho at the time to have whatever the medical community told me to have. Turns out that the results of the LEEP were negative. The procedure itself isn't a picnic but it isn't terrible, either. The doctor put a pad on my leg to " ground " me so I wouldn't be electrocuted, then injected the anesthetic. He didn't use enough so I felt the electrode go through the flesh (even though that part of the body isn't supposed to have many nerve endings). The acronym LEEP is for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure which is pretty self-explanatory. My doctor took the tip of the cervix and then a core sample which were put in a solution and sent to the pathologist. I would take the advice to have a second opinion. I had my LEEP done after a questionable PAP and a colposcopy showed the possibility of abnormal cells. Since I have had nine normal PAPs since then, if my next one is normal, I can go to once every two years. Good luck! Guest guest
As a person in the medical field I strongly advise you do what your gyn says is best, maybe get a second opinion form another gyn. Only after that you should focus on solving another episode of the abnormality with eating healthy. Renata

Guest guest
-MInnie I put the barley greens in my carront/apple juice every day. Where do you get your wheatgrass juice? Do you juice it yourself? Do you grow it yourself? I agree Dr. Day's lifestyle would be difficult to follow 100 percent. Especially if you were healthy, but I can say that if I thought I had cancer and I thought it would cure it, I believe I could do it. Dr. Day drinks so much carrot juice, I can't believe her skin isn't orange. Whatever she is doing, she looks wonderful. I also find it hard if not impossible to live her lifestyle if one works full time. But I think she even mentions that. Especially the part about getting out and excersisng in the sun every day. By the time I get home from work, it is dark, except for in summer. Finding time to excersise is my hardest thing. Also, when you work long hours, it is hard to prepare your juices fresh. I usually fix enough for a couple or three days, even though I know I loose some nutrients. I first thought eating raw would save more time, but I don't think it does. I find myself going to the grocer more often and preparing the raw foods to eat is almost as time consuming as just cooking a meal. Though, clean up is much easier. Not pots and pans to scrub, or ovens and stoves to clean. Do you juice it yourself? I buy organic wheatgrass from Whole Foods. Also sometimes I go to Jamba Juice and just buy two ounces for $2.35. It's easier and faster when I'm out and about, but that's sure not cheap, every day for a month it would add up to $70.50 for just 2 ounces a day! Some people try to exercise before work. I know that's not always easy to wake up earlier either, especially if you wake up extra early. My hubby has usually gone to work before the sun is even up. Some people exercise during their lunch time. Also even exercising after work when it's dark is better than no exercise at all.
