Guest guest
Do any of you take supplements? Like calcium, B12, iron etc. I worry that by not eating meat at all, I would be slighting myself on some nutrients. I am thinking it is B12 (or one of the B vitamins) that is found primarily in red meat. I really hate taking supplements. It seems unatural and the possiblity of over doing some nutrients is great. Not to mention that the body doesn't use atrifical supplemnts as well as those found in our food. Also, in the past I tried to take multi vitamins and they began to make me nauseous. I tried all different kinds and they got to where any of them would make me sick at my stomach. That is when I started concentrating on a healthy diet instead of depending on supplements. Guest guest
I use to take a lot of supplements when I was a vegetarian and even when I was a vegan. Now being raw I never did untill last week when I met Paul Nison again. He recommended as an insurance kind of thought to take B12 and he specifically recommended the brand from the Hellaluja group which I did buy. If we would not be so sweaky clean we would have plenty of B12. I mean you pull a carrot out of your garden and wipe of the soil and when you eat it you have billions of these B12 little critters in your system. But we scrape and wash them right off our veggies nowadays. So I take that. But other then that, I believe that supplements are counter productive to a raw diet. So in the end, it depends where you are from a diet/lifestyle plateau. Guest guest
I was also concerned about the B12 for a while. I took a test to see B12 levels in my body. It came out to be normal. I am still contemplating whether I should take the B12 suppliment anyway to be on safer side ! Here is the website for the test - www.b12.com. It cost me $70. It was worth peace of mind for me ! Here is a vegetarian B12 suppliment for Methylcobalamin. I don't know if it's Vegan or not though ! http://organicpharmacy.org/products/Methylcobalamin/SKU:MT6-pe I have started taking VitaSynergy product from rawfood.com. It provides pretty much all the Vitamin body needs along with some minerals. It's a 100% natural, whole food, vitamin & mineral suppliment. The website is - http://www.synergy-co.com/pages/vita-synergy.html I also have started taking RawPower product for protein from rawfood.com. I have started working out and to help body build muscles I am trying out this product. My diet is 95% raw. I know that dark green veggies & fruits have vitamins & minerals. I also know that most of the food in the US is depleted of vitamins & minerals. I haven't found source of veggies and fruits from wild which will be rich with vitamins & minerals. Hence, I have decided to take natural suppliments ! My 2 cents on this subject ! Cheers, - Hemant. rbwest01 wrote: I use to take a lot of supplements when I was a vegetarian and even when I was a vegan. Now being raw I never did untill last week when I met Paul Nison again.
