Guest guest
TOMMIE, I live in the boonies in TN. I have cold pressed coconut oil. What proportions would I use in the ice cream? YOU COULD PROBABLY USE A FEW TABLESPOONS OF THE OIL, BUT YOU'D NEED LOTS OF OTHER INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THE " ICE CREAM " WORK. IF YOU HAD COCONUT BUTTER FROM www.tropicaltraditions.com YOU COULD PROBABLY USE 1/2 TO A CUP OF THAT. HOW ABOUT USING FROZEN BANANAS (SINCE YOU LOVE THEM SO MUCH..LOL). YOU COULD MIX THEM WITH SOME OF THE OTHER INGREDIENTS IN OTHER ICE CREAM RECIPES AND YOU MIGHT COME OUT WITH A TASTY TREAT. > SO, YOUR DAUGHTER IS GROWN UP? Yes, as are my sons. My granddaughters are 4 and 10. THAT'S WONDERFUL. TAKE IT EASY. I'M PLANNING TRYING THE " CHILI " RECIPE YOU GAVE ME TODAY. THANKS AGAIN FOR THAT! Guest guest
When summertime comes, I might try the coconut oil/butter ice cream. As a general rule, I tend to stay away from anything cold like that because I don't like the feeling it gives me in my stomach. And with it being the last day of February... Hope you like the chili. I had corn chowder for supper today, along with my salad. Later! Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , Jen Lynn <jenfly777 wrote: > > TOMMIE, > > I live in the boonies in TN. Guest guest
Hi Tommie, How did your corn chowder turn out? I must say, I'm not having much luck with my raw recipes. I tried to make corn chowder last week and it didn't work at all - the skins on the individual pieces of corn would not dissolve in the blender, so with every spoonful I felt I had to chew it. I couldnt' eat it >jerushy1944 <no_reply > >rawfood >rawfood >[Raw Food] Re: tommie.... >Wed, 01 Mar 2006 02:20:52 -0000 > >When summertime comes, I might try the coconut oil/butter ice cream. >As a general rule, I tend to stay away from anything cold like that >because I don't like the feeling it gives me in my stomach. Guest guest
Hey! The corn chowder is my own recipe. It's on my blog but it's so simple that I'll post it here. I use one ear of corn since my cat won't eat it. Shuck it and take off the silks. Wash under running water. Cut just the tips of the kernels off, then scrape the " cream " off using the back of the knife. I use a four to one ratio for the " milk " . One part really raw cashews to four parts water in the blender. Put in a little sea salt and some green onion. Blend until smooth. Put the corn in a bowl, add the " milk " and stir. I like to sprinkle a little paprika or chili powder on top for some color. Chewing is my thing so the corn is no problem for me. I'm off to blog and then to bed! Guest guest
Hi, Jen! I'm glad it turned out delicious. I was supposed to go to a conference in Phoenix in May but the budget wouldn't allow it. I hate what the economy is doing to us. I would have loved to have gone. I've never been anywhere in Phoenix except for the airport. Have a good raw day! Guest guest
how do you set up your own blog? Linda rawfood , jerushy1944 <no_reply wrote: > > Hi, Jen! > > I'm glad it turned out delicious. Guest guest
It's simple as it can be. Click on the link to my blog and go to the top of the page. There's a button there that says " GET YOUR OWN BLOG " . Click on that and follow the prompts. There are several different templates you can use and you can either use a text box with HTML or a WYSIWYG text box. You can change the font, the color, use italics, bold text, insert embedded links, upload pictures--the list goes on and on. There is an extensive help section for people who are just getting started. Only Internet Explorer and Firefox are fully supported which is a shame because I am a confirmed Opera user. I have to use IE on the forum, too, because seems to prefer it. Google owns Blogger/Blogspot but there is nothing in the agreement that decrees you have to have their ads on your page. I have Google News which is set up as a default but it's possible to delete that, if you want. Set up a blog--I'd like to see lots of new raw food blogs--and put your link on your messages so we can go " see " you! Guest guest
Well! Blogger has been experiencing the first major problems I've known it to have. Wouldn't you just know it would happen now? I blogged last night, offline, and figured it would be back up this morning so I could post it but it's still down! Sorry, y'all!
