Guest guest
Ok, I have a master cleanse question. I would love to do a master cleanse, but am in school and need to be able to work and function in the world. Will I be running back and forth to the bathroom every 5 minutes? (I know this is a graphic question, but I have a need to know.) Thank you in advance. I really get a lot out of this group. Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing...how do people function at work if they haven't eaten for days? Do they take a week off work? Do they need to stay near a bathroom the whole time? Jen rawfood , " Melody Miller " <YishiYoga wrote: > > > > Ok, I have a master cleanse question. When you do the Master Cleanser, you do not feel hungry --unless you want to! What do I mean? My first time to do the Master Cleanser, another woman was doing it at the same time. We were both overweight. The primary difference was that she firmly believed that she needed to be eating at least every hour, while I was not a snacker. We both went into the thing at the same time. I made up two big 2-liter bottles of the juice in the morning and carried along a big bottle of water as well (I interpreted Burroughs' instructions to mean that I could drink as much lemonade as I wanted. I had a plastic cup to pour the juice into to sit it on my desk. Every time I thought about it, I drank some more lemonade. I NEVER FELT HUNGRY. Of course, I did not sit around fantasizing about the food I couldn't eat. On the other hand, my friend began " feeling faint " after a few hours. She kept thinking about what she was missing food-wise. By the end of the day, she was at McDonalds, claiming that she was too weak, and really did need to eat. I did not give up. I kept going. I did that first fast for ten days. I never did feel hungry or weak. Burroughs says that, if you make the " lemonade " according to the recipe, you will not get weak or feel hungry. That only leads me to believe that people who do get weak or feel hungry are feeling it all in their minds, not in their bodies. I have done the Master Cleanser for up to 15 days with no problems. (Know that I work 7 days a week, 8 hours a day. I am a teacher, so it is not like I am just sitting around at a desk filing papers or processing on a computer) Actually, after the first day, I usually feel a lot of extra energy. > Do they need to stay near a bathroom the whole time? I get up about 2 hours before I have to leave for work. When I am doing the fast, I go drink the salt water first, then start to make my lemonade. About 20 or 30 minutes later, I get my first urge and I go to the bathroom. On the first few days, I had to go a couple of times before I left for work, but then I was fine for the rest of the day -- okay, drinking a lot of liquids will make you want to go to the bathroom-- but I have a habit of going about every 2 hours anyway, for health reasons (most women do not go to the bathroom often enough, which makes them prone to bladder infections) Margaret
Guest guest
Margaret - you are my hero. Thanks for your experience. I am going to do it just like you - mentally be happy every second. I am in the fast 4 hours and feel like a million bucks. I too am a teacher and PTA President and going a million miles a minute. Can't stop and be sick - and feeling energized! Thanks for sharing.
